Old Thompson Trophies

Post by markss327 »

I was going thru the attic of the garage last evening, when I came across some old U-Haul packing blankets, all rolled up.
A smile came across my face, as I knew what they contained. These hadn't been touched since the move, Painesville to Mentor, Sept 2000.
I unrolled the bundles, to expose about a dozen, Thompson Animal class, winner and runner-up trophies. The oldest, from 1994. It was a bitter-sweet find, as the Nova has been gone for just over a year.

I pulled them all down, and lined 'em up on the work bench. Dan asked what I was going to do with them all. He wanted to keep some, so he picked out two.
One from 1999, his birth year, the other was green, his favorite color. The rest, well, they went to the 'curb', as today is trash day.

Memories yes, regrets\remorse, -no.

Do I sense a loss of a "Need for Speed"? :?:

Good point. Nope, no more need for speed. Still into the gas and oil stuff, though...
Now, it's hitting 14in of brown muck, engage the front differential lock, and throttle on... 8)

OK, 14in may be bit deep, and ya should lock the diff, -before hand, but ya'll get the idea.

Just a different type of enjoyment! I do like four wheelers too, but I can only have so many toys... and time...

Lucky for you - you are not sentimental about these things. I apparently am - at least for now.

These are in the stairwell to the basement. Can you feel the Chupposity? The largest trophy is from the day I beat the mighty Chuppa himself and then went on to win the whole thing.
