2014 Cadillac ATS Luxury 2.0T

Post by MostMint »

With the arrival of the V6 I'm planning to sell this one.

Car runs good, tracks straight, brakes like new, cold A/C.

Just over 119k miles. Still sorting out which tires will be on it and the asking price (should be $7k range)

I'll get some better pics here in the next week or so.

Got snow tires off and a decent set of tires on. Couple more cosmetic items and I’ll start the official selling/ads

Dealer said it was "Luxury" model. VIN search tells me it's "Standard"

Cars.com had price range on this from $10k to $13k. They are probably a bit optimistic, so I'm starting at $6900

Tiresmoker discount available if you have any interest.

I ended up selling this car about a month back. One of my daughter's friends bought it.

I tried selling this car using a couple different online resources. I had used AutoTrader in the past, but it has changed. Back then I could pay $50 and get an ad til it sells. Now they charge $9 for the listing, but there are strings attached. 1) I can't put my phone # or any personal information in the listing. They want to control the interaction and so the buyer has to register on Autotrader and set up an appointment. Dealers don't have this requirement so its like they really don't want me to have customers or use the service. 2) they want the sale to go through their private seller exchange where they collect the money, I send them the title, then after delivery I get the money. I have no interest in being subject to the whims of this exchange service. Eventually I canceled the listing.

I also tried cars.com. It's free to list, but they have a 3rd party provider called Caramel that brokers the deal just like Autotrader. Of course there is a fee to cover this. So annoying. I can end around this if the customer is willing but again they want to control the conversation so I can't really discuss with the customer until they make an appointment.

I avoided Facebook marketplace since so many people send messages but are not serious. Not sure what I'm going to do next time I have to sell a car but it'll be Craigslist or FB marketplace I guess.
