I did reasonably well at Mosport but needed just a little more speed to contend for a class win. Class leader had a bad night so I closed the points gap from 21 gap down to 7.

Up next is Le Mans. Another new track for me. I thought I was getting it down til last night practice race where I showed quite poorly. I don't have high expectations for tonight

Qualified P17 and finished P17 at Le Mans. One moment of terror followed by pretty much racing by myself the rest of the time.

In lap 1 there was an incident in front of me after the second chicane and while I slowed some I still got hit by one of the cars. Through some luck my car took no damage and I was able to continue with a large gap behind me.

Next week is going to a really short circuit at Tsukuba- like 36 second laps - which is a far cry from the almost 5 minute laps at Le Mans. It'll be like autocross, short track racing and maybe a little figure 8 all rolled into one.

No wonder you took no damage, your car apparently doesn't follow the rules of physics like the other guys.

There are rare moments when the shield effect kicks in. I recall a prior race where two guys wrecked in front of me in a place I was not expecting a crash. I hit one of them to where my car got launched a little. My front was totally destroyed but the guy I hit drove off like nothing happened.

There are with some frequency instances where cars share the same space without bending - and it does take something away from the game

This sim is decent but still does not match reality very well a small percentage of the time

Tonight is Mid Ohio

Last week was Tsukuba 1000. It was a sub 40 second lap - an quite slow compared to what we normally run - like 10 corners. Felt like an autocross course almost. Anyway put the time in and learned how to drive it qualifying P12 of 30. Ended P16 so overall good result

On 3/9 we race at the Nordschleife. This track has a lot of turns, little runoff and enough blind and off camber corners that there will be a lot of attrition. Leaders will take about 8 minutes to finish a lap. Look for me to run about 20 seconds behind them per lap. I am not planning to be very competitive pace wise - but with the steep learning curve and attrition based design I think I can do well if I can keep it off the barriers.

Mid Ohio was a disaster. I qualified P11 (best ever) and top in open class. I led like 9-10 laps then I made a small mistake entering the carousel and compounded it to a trip to the barrier which required a tow. Ended P24. Definitely wrecked a golden opportunity there.

Nordschleife was not a bad track to race, but I got into someone else's mess on lap 1, pitted at end of lap 2 and used my fast repair, then binned it myself on lap 3 and had to visit the pits again about about 35 seconds of repair, skipping the 4 minutes of optional repairs. Qualified P18, ended P19.

Up next is Philip Island

I really like this track it has a lot of high speed corners so it reminds me a bit of Nelson Ledges.

Phillip Island was a decent race - qualified P12 and ended P13. Qualified like .8 behind the leaders which was pretty good, and only had one incident point.

Up next is yet another new track: Red Bull Ring. About all I can say is at least it doesn't have a chicane!

Jose is out for the rest of the season, but there are two drivers who have more points (based on 3 drop weeks) and P1 is far ahead so it does not seem likely I'll be able to win the open class.

Looks like a pretty fun track. Lots of room there.
