Mail Alert

Post by Maverick »

I LOVE this product. Our mailbox is about 150' from the house. The receiver is mounted inside one wall on the front of the house. The alert works flawlessly!! Chimes whenever the mailbox is opened and leaves a red light on till it's reset.

Have to report that it has failed to alert on 2 or 3 occasions. Still love it.

Dave, please delete this thread.

The alert worked great for a week or two then has become increasingly unreliable. I wonder if batteries are getting week but I won't be replacing batteries this often. I'll be looking for another solution.

I trust you put in some Energizer or Duracell instead of the cheap batteries it came with

Worth a try, I guess. Even cheap batteries should last longer than 1 or 2 weeks.

I didn't intend to have anything more to say about the mail alert, but gotta say it's working perfectly now. It just needs an unobstructed line-of-sight to the mailbox door. Works EVERY time now. Very handy.
