would never have watched it except for the familiarity of the vehicle. I did skip through some of it.

my guess is that car was not running and they pushed it off the drive and it rolled down the hill to where it was sitting. not sure with an uncracked dash it was sitting outside for 20 years but believable it had not run in 20 years

It took me under 15min to watch, but he's amusing. Figure it's MN somewhere, so not a ton of heat to crack or ruin the inside. Those were nice newer houses around there and we're probably happy to see it go. It was on a dirt road too.

I was surprised he didn't try to work the gas pedal when he was cranking on it. I kept telling him
"Get in the car and pump it!" It's a Quadrajet, it's gonna need a pump or 4 to get going! Also, I'm
not certain that I would've spent the time changing the plug wires in the field, but his plan worked.

I cant believe I watched all the way through .. what turds. Curious what a '68 Cougar vs. a '68 Cutlass test would've been like. Imagine how far they fell in those 6 years.

I remember the pink panther episode... Good one. And what slugs those cars were! The 460 Cougar, in the 18s... So amazingly slow!

The Cutlass had 2.73 gears with a 350, 12 mpg, and it did the quarter 19.0 @ 78 mph.
Did John ever run old "Fireball"?

My Chevelle also had 2.73 gears with a 350. Pre-cam and headers with cast iron intake, a quadrajet and aftermarket air cleaner it ran 16.5 in the 1/4 with one exhaust cam lobe just about flat over 100k miles. Now that was one of the low end models with no A/C, no wire spoke hubcaps, and a lot of the junk that Salon had.

I wondered what that liquid was laying on the bottom of the intake in the video. Maybe oil coming from the turbos?
