Post by ttamrettus »

Is there a way any of us can go on here and delete all the SPAM from the general discussion forum?

Tell me how and I'd be happy to do it.

I HATE the SPAM ! ! !

Sorry. ranting and raving.

You guys are both moderators so you should be able to do this:

Go into the thread in question. At the top right click on the "edit" button to edit the first post on the thread. Once that window opens, click on the "delete this post" check box near the bottom and submit. Tell it you are sure and poof its gone.

Tiresmoker usually cleans them up but he was out of town last week and must be busy with other things atm.

All that's left is a little wisp of smoke from my six-shooter.
Thanks Andy.

Yep, I haven't been around in days. Work has been crazy, and Linda and I had a little getaway to Washington, DC and norhtern Virginia.

As Mostmint said, most of you are moderators. I specifically did that (long time ago) so you guys could delete spam. In the upper left of a message, you should see a little X in a box -- click it, click Yes to confirm, and that's it. Or Mostmint's method.

Wouldn't those ads be better suited on latexsmoke or something like that?

I think there must be a more lax security setting for this General Discussion forum than the rest. Maybe it needs made private or something? They aren't spamming in other forums.

I think the General forum gets it most from being first on the list. I think most of the forum 'security' is all the same.

You guys missed some good porn-spam yesterday. Had thumbnail images, and plenty of them.
