She’s home!! I’m taking it to a retro shop for an opinion on Friday for “to do” list. Endura repaint is main thing before i get it ceramic coated.
Re: 1969 Pontiac GTO convertible
Guess I hit max pics. Originally cream color with white top. Trying to confirm red color. Maybe matador red but that looks darker on internet search. Has a service replacement motor from GM, so numbers don’t match but guess that was common.

No cheap parts there. Looks like a real nice build. That thing will be a killer cruiser for sure. I bet it sounds sweet.

Yeah, he upgraded to disc brakes. Stainless exhaust. Stainless gas tank. Small side projects list are replace glove box door and put in stealth Bluetooth amp and upgrade dash speaker. AM radio is quirky, not sure if I care enough to get it fixed for now. I’ll add a video clip next weekend but yeah sounds sweet.

Re: 1969 Pontiac GTO convertible
I should have the GTO back in a couple weeks. Needed suspension overhaul, brakes adjusted, carb adjusted, and rear main seal replaced. They are putting together a shopping list for Carlisle too Need new canisters for hideaway headlights, for example. That should be it on mechanics. I’ll shop around to get a budget on a repaint, but that’s likely next year.
Re: 1969 Pontiac GTO convertible
I know of very few cars this old that are ever caught up on mechanics.TheRookie wrote:That should be it on mechanics.

Re: 1969 Pontiac GTO convertible
True. All the major stuff I can find. I'm sure there's lots of little things I'll find over time. I know the clock doesn't work and the AM radio is sketchy. Neither a priority.
Re: 1969 Pontiac GTO convertible
As you get to know it, you will find more things that you will want to do to it to make it
better, both mechanically and aesthetically. In my eyes, that's the fun of it. I normally get
bored with a car that is too perfect and too complete. Part of the enjoyment of an old car
is saying that "I did...." to it. That's what this whole forum is about!
