Don't laugh....but I'm gonna have to check out your mud guards and will probably get something similar.

If the K&N improves mileage, I almost have to find one.

I've picked up a flat black exhaust tip but haven't installed it yet.

By dinner time on Sunday, you'll clearly be the quicker truck. :D

It was a fun morning at TireSmoke Central. That lift sure makes things easier.
Flat rate on the exhaust was 1/2 an hour, it didn't take the crew 1/4 of an hour and it was done.

The K&N Kit also went very well, probably 30 minutes or so and no one was rushing.

Some laughs along the way.

A special thanks to 'Smoke for his lift and his time.
Also to my two sons for encouraging me and helping with the upgrade.
All I did was take these few pictures, they had all the fun. THANKS!!!

Jimmy sounds different, it can be quiet or loud, depending on how hard you step on the throttle.
I like it, I'm not sure what other people might think.

Now we'll see if Little Jimmy improves on his 14.84@92.87.

It sounds like a V6 with a muffler that is not stock.

https://youtu.be/OldG3HosK4s

As I said, it only becomes very loud when your really hard in it,
otherwise it is almost stock sounding at idle.

It doesn't sound like a V8, but you can tell that the sound is not stock.
I love starting it.

I made 4 passes with the new exhaust, none were close to the stock system.
My best before rain sent me home was 60 ft. 2.2747, 15.06 @ 92.17 mph.

Very disappointed. I enjoy the sound but that's not why I upgraded.

Do I wait for another night or return the system now?

I think the weather conditions might have played a factor. How did temps, humidity, pressure compare to last time?

And are you assuming its the exhaust? You changed intake and exhaust.

What RPM range are you in most of the time?

I'm pretty certain that weather is a factor. I'm wondering what other people are saying
that they got for power / speed gains from these installs. Have you checked that yet?

Hey Fred: When you installed the mud flaps/guards, where you able to use the existing factory holes/screw bosses?

Also, what brand did you go with? GMC or something after market?

My street in Avon is torn up now for repaving and I really need to cut down on the white concrete dust on my shiny blue truck. :)

I purchased the mud flaps from GMC with the truck but installed them myself,
they required drilling one hole and also used the other factory screws.
If you want the BOWTIE on the flap then a little drilling is in your future.

On the 2014 Silverado, I purchased WeatherTech mud flaps,
they only used the factory screws and there was no drilling required
and they worked fine.
