Mike's BBC 454

Post by Maverick »

Looks like the Geezer Rebuild Team of WXO and Maverick have another one to do. We had a phone discussion with Mike, the Chevy truck builder in PA that bought the SBC, and have a meeting of the minds on what Mike is responsible for, what we will do, and how the finances will be handled. Mike is being very generous in how the funding will work.

Mike will deliver a 50K mile 454 to us, we will get it set up and running as is on the run stand, check it out and make recommendations on what to redo. We'll replace parts as needed/agreed to, and get it pretty and purring again. Mike will pick it up when it's done. We have 3 months to Git 'er Done.

We're excited about building a BBC since neither has done one before and we know it'll be wrapped in a great truck ('57 GMC). All this fun isn't going to cost us anything and, in fact, we'll make some money on the deal. SWEET!!!

So now we're browsing the Internet for BBC info. Bought a "How to Rebuild the BBC Chevy" book which has this link to casting number info. http://www.racehome.com/bbc.htm

Stay tuned ...
