2004 SRT-10 Regular Cab

Post by TheRookie »

So yeah, I've been bit my the Viper bug. I found a low mileage (25K) truck in Atlanta that I picked up this summer as I wanted to get the manual tranny that comes with the regular cab. It's really such a different drive than the other truck, both are a blast.

Build list:
Bellanger long-tube headers
Straight pipes & Magnaflow
K&N CAI
JTSVP throttle body

Since it was black and I wanted to keep it pristine for a long time, I went ahead and got the CeramicPro 'gold' package. Full paint correction and 4 coast of nano ceramic. Looks better than new - and I remember when we got one on the lot back when I sold cars for year.

Well, as of a week ago, I am proud owner of a Roe Racing twin-screw supercharger with 12PSI pulley and custom meth/water injection system. Thus begins my journey for a full engine and tranny build to support what should end up around a 1000hp project. Still kind of hard to believe. Time to starting saving some $$$...

Nope. Palmer Dodge on the north side. They had at least a half dozen Vipers in the showroom.

Cool. One of my Scout parents just sold his black low mileage SRT10 so I was curious. Nice ride.

I went to the JTSVP shop last night to discuss options on upgrades. For now, I think I am going to just upgrade fuel pump/injectors, slap the supercharger and meth kit on it and only run 6PSI on stock internals and tune for under $3K. I think I can still get close to 600/600 rwhp/ftlbs. Otherwise, I'd have to sink about $10-15K just into a fully built, forged motor that can run 12+PSI and nitrous shot to get into four digits. Baby steps...

It was also the first time they got to check out my truck. They said, hands down, one of the cleanest they've ever seen. The hood liner is fully intact, which is rare. The intake is immaculate, again very rate. They also noticed the tranny has been upgrade, so I may not need to upgrade the clutch. It also looks like I have the JTSVP short shifter kit but needs some adjustment. Heh, this is my first RC SRT-10 so didn't realize all the extra I got in the deal. BOOM!

Smart move I think. You start making too much power and lots of other really expensive parts start breaking rapidly. In that configuration, it should stay pretty reliable for quite some time IMO.

Dropped off my truck today. Next time I drive it there will be meth protected supercharged goodness. I think it was pre-ordained since I was playing with a supercharged mustang on the way there and wasn’t able to hang. Next time it will be game on!

Cubic inches and boost should make for a seriously sick ride. Awesome!

That's all our resolutions...every year...always. You'll be the most guaranteed to be faster I think though.

Hopefully she will be home this week. She was on the dyno this week and hit 600 rwhp on 6 psi. Waiting for torque numbers but should be 650-700. That’s as far as I can go on stock internals. Full details and pic later.
