COVID Vaccinations

Post by Maverick »

We lost a friend to COVID last night. Our son was VERY sick with it but managed to stay out of the hospital. I hope you all will get vaccinated when you have the opportunity. Wife and I had our first shot and the second is scheduled. 400,000+ deaths from COVID in the US; none from the vaccination.

Good advise!! Arlene and I are eligible to receive the vaccine,
we were registered at 4 different places, but still nothing.
Many thanks to BP, his in-laws were able to schedule us
and we were able receive our first vaccinations today
and our second is schedule for very early March.
We'll be less fearful to go out & about after the 1st of April.

The paper work took longer than the shot,
we have had no reaction from the vaccine.

Gwen has gotten the Pfizer, both shots. 2nd shot made her a little sick, which seems to be the norm. I'm not personally in any rush for it.

UPDATE:

We lost another friend to COVID-19, this time the 65 year old sister of a good old friend. She refused to be vaccinated and didn't have to die. Three good friends have survived it, one was hospitalized in ICU and had severe symptoms when released.

We MAY have lost one woman in the US to the J&J vaccine but 500,000+ died from the virus.

None of these shots are FDA approved. Emergency Use Authorization.

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nc ... /mrna.html

By all means if any person wants to take the risk using unapproved treatments and believe this treatment will have a better outcome than not taking it, they should. While the immediate risks are low, no one know the long term effects of these new treatments so be aware of the risks.

Good info, thanks for posting it.

Ya pays yer money; ya takes yer choice.

Personally, I'm not too worried about long term effects. I hesitate to buy green bananas.

I've been shot, the CDC is happy, Governor DeWine is happy, I'm happy (no side effects),
back to playing billiards and I'll be ready and able to get on a cruise ship if they ever sail again.
If everyone was shot (how do you spell "Vacinatated"?) we could remove the mask requirement.

My mask
There was a time at TRP I was the only one with a mask, more now.

My wife and I just got the J&J this morning, probably some of the first after the pause was lifted. We were really concerned as we have plane tickets for May 22 and we weren’t eligible to get scheduled for a two-shot option far enough in advance so we were staring into the face of quarantine upon arrival in Ecuador. We were pretty happy when we arrived for our appointment and they asked us if we wanted the J&J. Now we will be ‘fully’ vaccinated prior to getting on the plane so we won’t even need a pre-flight Covid test.

My wife and I really shut down when the pandemic struck. Absolute minimum in-person shopping. Groceries delivered and disinfected before coming in the house. Packages sat in the garage for two days before coming into the house. Company only on the deck with distancing maintained.

Since we are vaccinated, we are living a normal life again. Shopping and eating out as we want. Over-night guests, friends and family in. Masks only as required by stores, etc.. Feels so good!!!
