Thanks for the heads-up on these, Jim. They look interesting so I went on eBay and bought a hundred for $10 for testing purposes.
We can check them out when they arrive.

Looks interesting.. I did a lot of splicing/soldering when I built the Saturn's Megasquirt harness last year, so I can appreciate the use of something like this.

I haven't used these myself, but they look interesting. I can say that I've seen the
crimp style versions of these work extremely well and durational. At my old job,
they'd use them for trailer wire repairs ( trailers are ALWAYS outside, ALWAYS
dirty, wet or salty ) and the crimp style ones WITH shrink tube were a permanent
fix. I think the only advantage to them was the time savings vs. the solder seal
kind. We would commonly take a set of wire strippers, a handful of crimp seals,
and a Bernzomatic and a trailer would be fixed in minutes.
