Old Memories from the Attic

Post by Fred32v »

My wife was going through some boxes in our attic that have
not been touched since we move here some 30+ years ago.
There was this framed picture of my 1978 Chevy Blazer.
Found in the attic.
Found in the attic.
3 decades of racing
3 decades of racing
This second picture shows 3 decades of racing at TRP.
Top to bottom, 1962, 1972, and 1982.

Time are changing but TRP is still really great fun!

Nice! Seems like you might want to add pics from some of the more recent decades.

He needs to post this on the Thompson Raceway forum. I’d bet there are very few
guys who have been racing there for longer than Fred has.

Re: Old Memories from the Attic - Trophy count

Post by Fred32v »

It was a wet rainy day, I started wondering how many trophies do I have and in what classes.
I have 8 Animal Eliminator trophies, 5 are winners and 3 are Runner up.
Eight Animal Eliminator Trophies
Eight Animal Eliminator Trophies
One Win in the 70's (Tall one on the left), two Wins in the 80's, two Wins and one Runner up in the 90's, and two Runner ups in '00's.
My last one in 2009 was against BP, he took the Win Trophy.
Currently 23 total trophies
Currently 23 total trophies
I have 12 Truck Eliminator Trophies, 5 are Winners and 7 are Runner ups, my first one was in '82 with my '78 Blazer.
I have that one Stock Eliminator Win Trophy from 2019 when the Canyon went 6 rounds.
The trophy up front on the right was at the Ford vs GM in '09 against a 72 car field,
I had to leave for a party at home, BP took the '99 ETC to the Finals. He took the $, gave me the Trophy.
The trophy up front on the Left was my very first trophy in 1962 for Stock 'G' Automatic or SGA
at the Fourth Annual Ohio State Drag Racing Championships.

TRP has always been fun, win or lose.

I like that the old Animal trophy actually has an animal on top. Your collection seems to be growing with some regularity.

After adding a new shelve in the storage room next to the Billiard Room,
I moved all my trophies from the loft down to what will now be called the Trophy Room.
Trophies
Trophies
Trophies for racing, softball, basketball, golf, and bridge.

Nice! I know you did competitive sailboating but it wasn't your boat so no boating trophies I assume
