Re: 1981 corvette
So we decided to order new front and rear bumper covers. I was going to get the ebay ones but the c3 forums complain about fitment. I went with ACI versions from ZIP corvette. They were almost $300 more total but are said to fit really well. We will see. I think I am goin to try and clean up the eng...

Re: 1981 corvette
This car has the computerized QJet. I’m going to try replacing the computerized hei with the non-computerized one. It looks like 81 is an oddball emissions OBD year. I’d like the improved reliability of the sniper. The body guy recommended a new nose. He’s afraid the rubber/plastic repaint may crack...

The dry ice made very easy work of the removal.Basement Paul wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 10:32 am How much weight savings did you get from that battery too? I'm guessing at least 15lbs. That tar flooring seems like a terrible job, but the floor looks sweet underneath.

About 14 pounds

UPDATE FLOOR PANS
I decided to do banging and scraping on the interior before paint.
Then I discovered the tar panels were STUCK.
I was at that time thinking to put the new kilmat directly over the old.
My BMW buddies here changed my mind.

UPDATE ENGINE BAY
I decided I hated the large ugly standard type battery.
After a little research, Mazda MIATA guys like this small AGM battery.
I just need to figure out how best to isolate it and mount it in the engine bau.
I think it looks great.

I'm now on the other side of the fence. I like license plates that are hard to ID.
I's 1's O's 0's 8's B's
In case some is offended by my driving it's harder to ID.
Personalized plates are too easy to remember. But maybe I'm paranoid.

I have 48,9xx miles on it and the tires are in the marginal zone.
I purchased a set of night edition take offs for $800.
Today I had them balanced and installed.
I dig them.
First picture was when the truck was new, 100 miles.
Second picture is after 3 accidents and 48,9xx miles.

C3 corvette interior door retainer set
As you may know Alex and I are working on his corvette. In one of the 4 sets of door handles that we have, ONE of them had a GM retainer that virtually NO ONE on the corvette forums has seen before. Attached is screen shot of the corvette manual showing the part number. There are several pictures of...
