Re: 1987 Corvette Z52

On the Vette this weekend we removed the rear speakers and boxes (actually only one speaker was there, but two BOSE boxes), removed the rear cargo shade and shade hooks up front, and pulled all the insulation out from under the carpet. Total weight savings there was about 15 lbs. This car is a littl...

Re: 2003 S-10

The truck is basically done and has returned home. I only say basically because it has to go back for a wet sand and buff after some time for the paint to really dry out. I'll most likely bring it back in the Spring when I can drive it there and back. It turned out nice, and the longer it sits, the ...

Misc Shop Stuff

A friend of mine is to the point where he's done working on cars so he's starting to liquidate most of his stuff. He has a nice Lincoln welder, a good horizontal tank compressor, lots of air tools, HD jack stands, etc, that he's looking to sell cheap. He would rather deal with people he knows or the...

Re: 2005 Yamaha Raptor 660

The nerf bars are now installed and look pretty cool IMO. They only added about 4 lbs to the quad too. I also pulled the air box lid back off to install my Outerwears air filter cover to help keep the heavy dust and debris out of the K&N (yeah K&N). Since I was in there, I got a step drill o...

Re: 1987 Corvette Z52

We got the hitch install finished last weekend, and finished reinstalling the exhaust yesterday. Of course there were a couple bolts from the hitch that needed trimming, but no big deal. Somehow I don't have a picture of the completed install... Then we changed the oil as it had most of a season ful...

Re: 2003 S-10

I haven't posted in a few days, but the truck is basically done at this point. Jim is trying to contact State Farm about the addition to the repair claim he submitted. I'll call State Farm on Tuesday to try and move it along so I can get the truck back before it snows again. Here's a bunch more pict...

Re: 2003 S-10

Looks like all the parts are in and I'm guessing painted at this point. It's Thursday, so I'm guessing this will be a next week finish unless something pops up.

Re: 1987 Corvette Z52

I just spent some time reading lots of reviews and despite a couple reviews about missing hardware and mediocre instructions, the final results sound amazing. This will likely be on my list of things to do this year.

Re: 2003 S-10 Some painting!

There's some paint going on! The door is blended too, but I got that picture through FB messenger and can't forward it to my email... On the grill I bought, the chrome was peeling a little, so I decided to see if he could just paint it body color instead of finding another one. He was able to strip ...

Re: 2003 S-10

Yes, he talked about blending into the driver's door. He said the hardest part for him is getting his smooth paint to match the factory orange peel. There's nothing in his shop that isn't glass smooth. It's pretty amazing.

Re: online videos of whatever

Yes it is terrible to look at. And with good EV trucks (if there is such a thing) coming out from GM and Ford, and eventually Ram, why would you pony up for this thing? Yikes. Also, that video says it was towed out by an F150. Actually, that was an HD Ford of some sort (F250-350), and it was ON THE ...
