Re: 2005 9.2x Linear

It has all wheel drive, 2.5L 4 cylinder ( no turbo, bummer! ). It has all of the Saab basic options ... Air, cruise, tilt, cd player, etc... The previous owner bought it in Alaska, so heated seats were the only extra option that it has.... It seems to ride well, and it handles very well. So far I'm ...

2005 9.2x Linear

So over the weekend, I made the trek to Washington D.C. to pick up my "new" car. AKRover (soon to be AfricaRover) was thinking about maybe selling this car earlier in the year and I told him when he was ready to dump it, I might have an interest. When he found out he was not going to need ...

Re: Cadillac

I'd get it balanced if I could..... You're right, Fred's motor at high rpm's was WAY
smoother than my 425, and they had the same cam & were nearly the same motor.
Can't go wrong getting it balanced in my opinion....

Re: TRP Wednesday September 12th

I'm certain that there will be a spring kit that'll allow you some weaker springs to help out the situation. If you can't wait, you may try taking a stiffer spring and cutting some of it off, or heating it red so it weakens it up.... Using this method you could play with it now instead of waiting to...

Re: 1998 C5 Roadster

I'm tempted to go to the strip next Wednesday....I want it to be cool when I go. If I break it, I will hit up Fred32v for a loaner... ( he doesn't know that yet ).... as for the Saab, I've looked it up on the net, and stock they're supposed to run 16.20's @ 85 mph... I'm thinking with some air intak...

Re: 1998 C5 Roadster

So, hopefully, the third time's a charm. The Vette went ( a couple of weeks ago now ) into the shop for the third time. This time the torque converter let go. The trans guy said that you could hear the guts rattling around when you shook it. They rebuilt it again ( new pump, converter and complete f...

Re: 2000 Buick Regal GS

Well, that didn't take long... I listed it around 11 this morning & it sold @ 2:00 pm... Good 'ol craigslist!! .... it sold for $2300, which was under KBB by a bit, but it was far from a gem & it's going to a kid who's going to use it as his first car.... Now I have to drive the Vette for a ...

Sleepers

Ok, so I had a 96 Roadmaster station wagon that ran 14.75 ... BP's 69 Caddy is in the
13's ... both great sleeper cars..... I think this one takes the prize as the best!!!

Re: Weird car shopping

Nice job Tim! All of this haggling he's been doing with dealers is hilarious. What everybody doesn't know is that Tim and I have coined a deal on the sale of his old car. It took 2 emails and one phone conversation. I have to find a method of getting it back from Washington, D.C., but that's now in ...

Re: Weird car shopping

Just to chime in... I've recently driven a Ford Explorer Sport-Trac... It has decent ground clearance, 4 doors, and a covered bed (factory tonneau cover thing)... It seems like a nice truck, and dependability wise hasn't had a failure in 51k miles. It's power is adequate (not a supercharged Regal or...

Re: 1998 C5 Roadster

Ugh!! Transmission is starting to fail. I called the trans guy yesterday and he said to bring it in. So Fred32V and I make a plan to take it to the trans shop, cause it's still propelling itself, but seems weak. We made it about an eighth of a mile and it failed all together. You haven't lived until...

Re: Carlisle History et. al.

Most of my memories of Carlisle deal with the ride there and back. Due to my work schedule, and my desire always to wake at 4 am on Sunday for the drive home, I make the trek to the meat ( meet ) on my own. I've made that trip myself in a 65 Olds Dynamic ( which with a 2bbl carb got over 17 mpg! ), ...
