Feel bad for the guy. It almost appears that his traction control "acted up" on him.
Don't know the guy or the car or how much he drinks, if at all.....but this is a story that probably won't have a happy ending.

Re: 1963 Corvette
Upon seeing the pix, the job is a little more involved than it sounds....but well done.
Can Bair's restore the Corvette hubcaps?
Two plus years between posts? Shocking....but in a good b/c you've just been driving it! That is, after all, the real goal in all of this.

Re: What do you think of this color/wheel combo on a '69?
Very much appreciate the replies....but I was never really contemplating changing mine over to that. I'm all Lime Metallic/Black Vinyl Top....all the time. I just came across it "by accident" and thought it really looked cool.....and I thought I'd share it with the group. I'm under the ass...

What do you think of this color/wheel combo on a '69?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Chevelle-SS-/201010883525#ht_1100wt_880 While RED has been done ad nauseum on '69 Chevelles and Camaros, I think this looks really sharp. Apparently, it's a 2010 Dodge Charger Color: Mango Tango. It's more of an Orange Metallic.....I think. It jumps out at you contr...

Re: Cheap Impala -my next car!
Don't laugh, but this week I'm driving my grandparents' 2009 Impala around as I take the car to E-Check for them/get their new tags, etc.
Anyone encounter the "Airbag" warning message at one time or another?

Re: Another Mini Project
Very cool indeed! Don't laugh, but I've got a Crosley unit from the 30s that belonged to my maternal grandparents over at Lynn Drive. I'll have to show it to you sometime. (They're both still alive (89&88) but wanted their basement cleared out a few years ago in case they needed to "evacuat...
Re: '70 F100
Looks good already!
Yanking everything out of your engine bay, cleaning it, and then painting it can be a real PITA......BUT the end result is almost always well worth it.
If you really want a very nice looking Classic, you've got to go through this process at some point, though.

Re: Tiresmoke Central, construction begins!
Continuing the improvements.. a couple weekends back, I got a TV mounted in the garage. Gwen has this 32" unit that we weren't using at all, so she offered it to me for the garage. I found a nice $20 wall mount at Micro Center and a $5 universal remote. It swivels pretty far to the left and ri...

Re: An Eventual Replacement for the Trailblazer
One of the best things about my '69 plates is that the registration was good for 40 years. (If I'm wrong on the actual term, it's still one hell of a long time w/o having to pay for tags, annual registration, etc.) I bought the Chevelle in '09, so I've had it for five summers/seasons. I've put rough...

Re: My Corvette search
Last weekend, at the Mecum Auction from Anaheim, a 2002 Z06 that certainly appeared nice on TV sold for.....$22,000. While Dave and I were helping a client of mine look for a Corvette last Winter, we stumbled across a car lot off of Vine Street in Eastlake to look at a C4 of some kind that we passed...

Both came off the same assembly line.....in Flint or Flat Rock, MI if I remember correctly.Basement Paul wrote:Mazda MX-6 = Ford Probe Those were pretty cool too, and also ran forever with the V6.

Very fun car, though.

Re: An Eventual Replacement for the Trailblazer
Good advice. Is there a mileage limit or anything on your hagerty policy ? I can't recall off the top of my head.....but I haven't put more than 2K miles on that car in a year.....although I've certainly spent more than $2K a year on it. :) The only thing that jumped out at me as odd was a clause t...

Re: An Eventual Replacement for the Trailblazer
I have this debate in my head almost everyday. I have convinced my self I need some sort of truck. The impala just doesn't do what I need it to outside of work. So I am currently trying the cheap paid for various car route. We'll see how it goes. 2012 Impala meets my work requirements - 4 door, 5 y...

Re: An Eventual Replacement for the Trailblazer
So what's a guy, that doesn't really need a full-sized pickup, to do? :( Restore an old truck?? That option is definitely on the table! If I can tow my boat with a, say 67-72 Chevy short bed, I really wouldn't need another tow vehicle. And a Posi would really help on these steep and wet b...
