Re: 1966 Corvette project, will I finish before I die?
I know this thread is supposed to be about the Vette, but the 409 seems to be upstaging it as far as my interest is concerned. I think we need a thread for the 409, too. I hope you don't die before you get to it Dick.

Re: Are your new tires "new" ?
[quote="johnsons63"]Need opinions on truck tires... I need to buy 4 tires for my 2005 Chevy Trailblazer. I don't plan on buying top of the line tires, although I don't know what those would be. I am after a 60,000 to 70,000 mile tire that is quiet. Maybe that is top of the line. Anybody ha...

Keep those updates coming, oldvettedad. Pictures, too! We love stories and pictures, but don't wear yourself out. I do have some advice for you, though. Stay away from the big words. I had to look up "cathartic". Welcome to TireSmoke.

Ah, yes, jackstands. That well known and well used technique. I've used it myself. I can't even explain how that never occurred to me. A senior moment?? Alzheimer's??

[quote="Racin'Jacin"]Got the upshift to work today. Can't wait for good weather to unseal the garage and take it for a spin!!! OK, Jacin, you really have me curious. How in the world are you testing the upshifting of the tranny with the car in a "sealed garage"??? What am I missi...

Most Mint Crap Can Racing
I've seen 32V mention the fact that the subject thread requires a password, but won't accept the standard password from my profile. That's the case with me. I see evidence of views and posts but can't login. What gives?

Ultra-gauge
I bought one of these to monitor gas mileage and other interesting stuff on the Trailblazer (Ruby). http://www.ultra-gauge.com I took it for some test runs, but to get accurate results I still need to calibrate distance using mile markers. It collects info from a set of vehicle sensors then performs...

That was a interesting video, Jim. I enjoyed the walk-around, but seeing it running was the best part.

Re: 2006 TrailBlazer
Don't feel too bad, Jim. Ruby's (her name now) performance just took a hit. I put new shoes on her and went from 235-17's to 245-17's. Now I'll really need the extra zip the super-tune will provide. I've also seen some Gibson exhaust systems for the 4.2.

Re: 2006 TrailBlazer
There's still a variable to think about. The TB comes with either a 3:42 or 4.10 rear. I've read that the ones with the 4.10 are very respectable on the street. My economy gear might not stand up to Maverick's Explorer. I might have to take it to RPM to do some tuning to even us up a bit.

Re: 2006 TrailBlazer
It's got a 3:42. What's the weight on your explorer?
I found a curb weight of 4417 on the 2wd TB.
