Re: Tiresmoke Central, construction begins!

The ticket to painting it quickly is an airless sprayer. Typically guys who "whitewash" new house interiors will spray the paint on and backroll with a roller to get the finished look people want. A sprayer will guarantee that the uneven texture of the OSB will be filled and there will be ...

Wanted: Decent car ... Cheap!

Here's the scoop. I'm in the market for a cheap-to-drive car for my kids to drive. I'd love to find a late 90's - 05 Buick Century or Regal as I'm relatively familiar with those cars. I've been searching for a week or so, trying to figure out what they sell for. Seems I can get a decent one for arou...

Re: Carlisle 2014 - scavenger hunt

Good call!! I'd flip in some bucks to make a game of it....
Since it's rare for me to "need" anything, it'd be fun to have
something to search for.

Re: Another good read....from Hagerty this time

I agree with BP and Mostmint. Old cars with huge displacement, high compression, etc. are so cool, but the current motors are way superior. Technology alone puts current vehicles at a total advantage. Multiple valves per cylinder, fuel injection, 4, 5 or 6 speed transmissions with lock-up converters...

Re: 2012 Chevelle Projects

Smoker & Maverick, I've been reading both of your posts about noisy valve train... I can tell you both that when the Vette came back from getting the cam installed, I thought it sounded TERRIBLE at idle. There is just a bunch of valve noise. I asked Hutter's about it and their response was that ...

BP-- I talked to Dan about the problem you're having. Imagine this: his car has the same issue. He said that "they all have that problem." He's checked through forums and found guys that have replaced every moving part in the front end and still haven't cured this issue. You need to call h...

Re: '70 F100

There's a chance that exhaust could be a titanium exhaust, in which case I wouldn't cut it up.... it's probably worth $300 if it's titanium. The stock steel exhaust on my vette had black painted mufflers.... if you look at my thread about the vette, one of the first things I did was change exhaust, ...

I'd be checking for tie rod ends... specifically the inners. That the
Regal had sporadic issues like that and the tie rods were shot.

BP,

You need to talk to Dan. His car had that ABS thing happen too.
It sounds like you and Dan drive the same exact car!
