Re: 1987 Corvette Z52
Today we got the four stainless steel flexible Russell brake hoses installed. We also flushed out the old, brown, probably original DOT3 brake fluid and sucked out and wiped the brown/black crud out of the reservoir and then put DOT4 in and made sure that at each corner we pumped the old fluid out u...

Re: 1987 Corvette Z52
On Saturday we got the driver's side rear wheel hub replaced, and today we got the passenger's side one done. I struggled on Saturday getting the new hub inside the parking brake assembly and ended up dismantling all of it. I did this because the new Moog hub is made slightly more material than the ...

That motor takes up as much space as an LS. 3.0 is a giant four pot.

Dave, just before he beat me. If I knew he was really going to be gutting me, I wouldn't have taken such a nice sunset picture of him.

Re: 2023 Kuhnle Motorsports Park Wednesday nights
Last night was totally fun. Dave already told you about my round 1 loss. I'm chalking that up to new car rust. As I drive this car more and get used to the speed that it's running, I'll be better at knowing my boundaries at the finish line. I basically hit the brakes too late so a good win for Dave!...

Re: 2023 Kuhnle Motorsports Park Wednesday nights
The Vette is basically ready for it's KMP debut tomorrow night. I now have the Toyo drag radials on it from the S10 in the correct Corvette size. Even at 32lbs of air, I don't think I'll even need a dry hop to get it to hook. My wish is to see a 13.99 but my reality says it's probably 14.2s somewher...

Re: Chevelle Projects 2023
Since I put the 160 thermostat in the Vette, the converter doesn't lock up now. But my converter isn't as loose as yours and I'm not geared as hard, so freeway cruising at 70 plus is only about 2100-2200. They like heat, I don't. And I haven't even put a real trans cooler in it yet.

Re: 1987 Corvette Z52
Saturday we messed with the timing a little with bumps to 10 degrees, and then back to 8, and ended back up at 6 degrees as it will still detonate at those higher levels. It's definitely stronger at 10 degrees, but not worth hurting the motor running it with the pinging. We washed it up so it looks ...

Gasoline
So either I forgot, or I never really knew this but: The weight of a gallon of gasoline is about six pounds. There is a slight difference depending on the type of gasoline and its additives. Unlike water, which weighs about 8.4 pounds per gallon, gasoline is 25% lighter. Many people instinctively th...
