I did a recent tune-up to the GTP that included new plugs, wires, fuel filter, injector cleaner, cleaned the K&N (yeah, K&N), and changed the oil. I also installed four new struts. According the dash readout, I'm averaging 24 mpg in all-around driving over a couple weeks. I reset it this mor...

Well, it was another successful day at the dragstrip. I didn't get out there till almost 2pm and it was noticeably warmer than it was 2 weeks ago. Chris rode out with me and shot some more video. After the bogging and soft leaves from last time, I looked into the acceleration enrichment. I had the d...

Live, from the garage

Tiresmoke.org has finally made it directly to the garage. I've done it with the laptop too, but the keyboard on that is lousy and this is more perman...

It is by far my best ET ever. However, years ago when I was running 13.70s @ 102-103, I made a pass on nitrous and went 12.67 @ 111.94, which is still my fastest MPH ever.

The problem off the line is the Acceleration Enrichment in the computer, something I haven't touched yet. Rolling into the throttle slower is the band-aid that I used. That's why I say it's a lazy leave. I've had trouble getting it to idle right since purchasing the new throttle body. I have the scr...

Chevelle makes first run!

It was a great day today. The sun was shining, the temperature was warm, and Thompson was open for their first time this year. They opened at 10am, but I didn't get out there till somewhere around 1-2pm. I've given up on the computer controlled timing for now and put the distributor back to a mechan...

What would you say that 1979 T-Top Firebird weights with the big engine in it?
At least 3500lbs w/o driver.

PASS TIME comes to Tiresmoke! Name the time, win the hotdog!

I'll take that hotdog wager. Closest guess wins? (either over or under)

Headers open? What tires will be run?
