Re: 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 Turbo Diesel
So after another couple days of working perfect I had another Hard Start. This time I hadn't pre-checked the system pressure so I had to wait a day to see if it would repeat and sure enough it did it again - BUT ! THAT makes no sense - or should I say it says the problem NOW is not fuel pressure (or...

Re: 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 Turbo Diesel
Stan, Myself and Jill went to Byron, Illinois with that truck pulling my trailer - you couldn't tell not even a little.
I'm getting a little excited again - looks like I might have fixed my hard start problem....cautiously optimistic.

Re: 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 Turbo Diesel
BP, Yep that was it. It was one of Stan's old trucks (he had a couple). As you might remember Stan was a man of many talents - one of which was he knew diesels like the back of his hand. He's probably chuckling right now over my follies. It's pretty solid, Stan went down south to get it. I've done a...

1998 Dodge Ram 2500 Turbo Diesel
So my latest FUN has been revolving around tinkering on my 12V Cummins Diesel. Had it a year or so haven't really driven it much as there wasn't much call with a lot of the races shut down. I think it could probably use a new set of rings as it smokes a little, but honestly I don't see me doing that...

Re: Quickest Cars on Tiresmoke
Had the digger out once this year @ 42. I left REAL easy (I planned to but the plan wasn't to go THIS easy) anyways I was a bit nervous since last year I bent the frame on a hard landing - this blower motor is MUCH harder to launch) anyways with my all time WORST 60' of 1.7 I went 9.15 @ 156mph. Had...

Re: DIY press fit con rod install
For a race motor that's coming apart for any reason - floating makes the most sense. Cost isn't much on a new build. Having the option for easy disassembly and parts swapping is worth it. For a street motor I personally couldn't justify converting one way or the other. A press fit deal does require ...

Re: Chip off the old block
Just too update this old post. I finally got the car out again this year for the 2020 RocknRace. Only got one pass in - left like a grandma coming from church (that was in fact the plan) although I left a bit easier than I really wanted and while cutting the WORST 60' of my life (in that car) a 1.7 ...

Re: Rock-n-Race
I saw the advertising, but didn't head out there. Was it a cool event? How was the music? Did you camp? That Tailgate Tormentor is great!! -Dave I've been there a few times - it's always been a good time. They have a swap meet too, it's not real big, but hey a great way to kill a little time when t...

Re: Rock-n-Race
Tailgater Tormentor! That's great. You should post a picture of that... 154mph has to be way faster than you were going before. -BP I was mid 140's before so nearly 10 mph better. Also this pass I left in high gear - so there's a LOT left on the table. I've only made a handful of passes with the bl...

BP, Ask and you shall receive! I only wish I could have taken a pic of some of the expressions on their faces when they saw it up close!

Re: Rock-n-Race
Yeah THAT part sucked. I think I musta tweaked it a couple days earlier as I was crawling around it as I was welding a couple more uprights in, but it didnt hurt right away. It started acting up AT the track! I was like SERIOUSLY??? Get in was bad, but getting out was REALLY bad. Even bending over t...
