So I broke down and found a rebuild kit online for about $35. After replacing all the gaskets from the metering blocks out, new power valves, and cleaning it all up, the carb didn't leak any more gas where it wasn't supposed to. I was able to start the car, but had a very hard time keeping it runnin...

I don't think you restore a Maverick for the money. I do love how unique these cars are, but I like Pintos too...

I love when you wrote "The restoration was fun but I had no interest in owning or driving a Beetle. It reminded me of my lawn tractor." That's good stuff.

It was great to have you Jim! We all had a great time (even the TireSmoker himself after drying out). There should be a few good pictures and videos to come soon.

I remember back in the late 70's / early 80's watching dirtbike / streetbike mix type racing on Wide World of Sports. I believe they called it Superbike racing then, but I'll have to look it up. They raced partially on a road course, partly on a flat dirt track, partly on a motocross course. I thoug...

I don't need no stinking diet! I second the Pepsi / Gatorade mix.

Anyone got some BBQ sauce? I know that makes hot dogs really good...

Ponch and John should bring Harlan too, in case we need to fix something when it breaks.

Most TV's will have the standard red / yellow / white RCA type plugs in front. This should be all you need to hook up for video purposes.
