Re: iAccel phone app

I started setting up the iAccel app with the following settings: Vehicle mass (kg) 1556kg (3430 lb. ) As delivered weight with me in it. Vehicle drag coefficient (CD) 0.35 (from C4 forums) Vehicle frontal area (m²) 1.8m² (19.2ft²) (from C4 forums) Air density (kg/m³) 1.244 (calculated from local wea...

Re: iAccel phone app

I've been doing some exploring of it and with the free version, the speed is limited to 80mph (maybe for safety reasons). I have sent a question in to the author to find out if the pro version will allow higher speeds. Author Jon Neades says: There are no restrictions on the ¼ mile test. It will re...

Re: iAccel phone app

Sorry. I forgot to add that part. It's a vehicle performance app for iPhones and android phones. iAccel is a performance meter designed to test the acceleration and braking performance of your vehicle. In use it displays a series of gauges to monitor performance and a continual graph of selected par...

Does anyone have any experience with the iAccel phone app? I just discovered it and I'm trying to figure out how to use it.

New Year status on Silvia project

ODO: 105,648 Silvia is still running great! She starts and runs to my satisfaction with a high fun factor while rowing her around. Since changing the injectors, all drivability problems have disappeared. At startup, an engine noise (knocking) on the right side is getting quieter over time. It goes a...

My long gone '62 Corvette

In the early '70's, I had a black w/white coves 1962 Corvette. I even ran it a time or two at Thompson. Marital strife caused me to pass it on to a friend for his use and eventual sale. From there I lost track of it. Somehow, I managed to keep the VIN tag all these years. It had been very loosely fa...

Re: 1971 El Camino

I'm always amazed by the long list of messed up things you can find after buying a really nice used vehicle. Oh, well, that's why we do what we do.
Fixin' is a satisfying part of the enjoyment.

Small but satisfying fix

Since I've been driving Silvia a lot more, I decided to switch on the PKE (Passive Key Entry) feature on the key fob. PKE senses the transmitter in the key fob and unlocks the doors and disables the security. It worked for a while, but then went dead. I bit of diagnosis indicated that the fob was th...

Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette

Yep. She's very functional as long as I don't want to change the position of the seats. That's my last big thing and I'm not ready to tackle that yet. It requires a lot of disassembly of the console and the dash. BTW, I have been successful at setting up some modern audio recently. I installed a blu...
