BP and I briefly talked about this last night on the phone. When did gas hit $2/gallon, 2003? roughly? So in 5 years, the price of gas has doubled. 5 years. I have difficulty believing the conspiracy theorists that Bush/Cheney are somehow have a direct hand in this, because I generally dont believe ...

That's pretty cool. I heard a rumor that NBC is trying to develop a US version of that Top Gear program.

My sister lives a couple miles from me and before it was all done, said she measured 16". I have to believe it was 18-20 by me, at least.

I'm a fan of Crutchfield. It's been a long time since I ordered from them (10 years, at least), so I hope their kits and service is still the same, but they have nice installation kits, wiring adapters, and excellent instructions. I'll gladly pay a few bucks more to get something from them as oppose...

winter sucks

I've already snow-blowed (snow-blown?) my driveway 4 times in the past 24 hours.

I picked up a Holley 58mm throttle body (stock is 48 ) on ebay for $220 shipped. It arrived today. They sell for $350-400 new, and this one came with a TPS sensor and Idle-Air-Control motor. Pretty good deal, I thought. Yay auctionstealer.com! It's prettier than my old one too. http://www.postimage....

I bought a new MS-II processor, cost $90. This is the 2.x version with the blue PCB. It has either 2x or 4x (i forget) the amount of RAM as my original MS-II 1.x (green PCB), and all the latest code is developed for this version. The new code also makes the spare I/O ports on the processor very acce...

The rarest car I've ever seen, I guess, is a Tucker. (anyone seen the movie?) I don't have any pictures, but I do remember it. It had this little lever hanging off the steering column that had a conventional 4-sp manual pattern to it, but could be flicked with a finger or thumb. There was no dashboa...

1) Thanks. It has been a ton of work these past couple of years, but I've learned a lot along the way. 2) Chuppa works on 1250s, not 1040s. 3) Megasquirt has already taken over my garage. I will have no more carbs if possible. With the injection working as it is supposed to, it really takes very lit...

I spent a little more time with the car tonight. I now have Megasquirt controlling the electric fan. It's completely programmable. I have it come on at 187* (running a 180 stat). I could also set a condition to turn it off if, say, throttle position is over 90%. I won a new throttle body on Ebay. I'...

I poured about 4.5 gallons in the tank from a gas can today and the fuel gauge finally registered near 1/4 tank. I started the car and let it warm up and made a couple laps of the neighborhood again, recording a datalog. I ran this against MegaLogViewer's VE Analysis function and it generated a new ...
