It was a blast. Hadn't raced more than time runs in a long time. Here is how it went: Time runs: ET @ MPH, 60', reaction time 14.50 @ 99.38, 2.21, .041 14.14 @ 99.59, 2.26, -.014 14.24 @ 100.23, 2.32, .121 I recorded all 3 of these on the laptop. On the first pass I lost .05 in the first 60' and ano...

the GM cars have a rubber stop in the center of the rear end directly above the front of the pumpkin. To make it work for racing you need to move it down closer to the housing. I place mine so I can just fit my finger between the housing and the snubber (less than 1"). You are correct the snubb...

FWIW the open carrier/air shock/pinon snubber outfit was good for 13.22 in my 78 Lemans. That car had coil springs so it was hard to find traction bars, and the snubber was cheap. I never did buy a posi for it and the body rusted out before I could get to the 12's. I still use the snubber today in m...

A stall converter is not like a light switch. It will start moving the car before the number. With a 3.anything gear you probably won't spend a lot of time under 16-1800 anyway. You need to find someone with a high stall and drive the car around and see, because it is hard to explain. My SS stalls w...

2900 pounds is light. It should have enough power to spin the tires, but I would still investigate if there is a "cheap" converter with a little higher stall. That would be first on my list- er after getting it running that is. I'd rather redo the rear end gear or the brakes than the torqu...
