I have decided to press this car into service for all seasons. I now have an indoor parking spot at work so winter leaky t-tops will be less of an issue. I have also learned about the Blizzak tires, which I will be running in the winter. In order to accommodate the winter tires, I acquired an extra ...

Wow another week has passed. All my parts from I had ordered from Corvette Central are in. Installed the new circuit board in the tach. Had to recalibrate the tach by removing the needle, and resetting it at zero, but it now works. I still need to finish dash reassembly. Went to Canfield swap meent ...

That was pretty cool. When they started cutting off the outside panels it got a little silly. Of course we all know light makes might. Now if they sold off those custom rims and tires, the CD changer and all the other valuable parts they could have bought a nitrous kit, a turbo or some better tires ...

Update: Before the swap meet this weekend I was able to make the repair to the tach. I soldered in two wires replacing the damage on the circuit board. At Carlisle I spent a little over $100 at Corvette Central's booth on misc new parts. They were offering free shipping. I also bought a used proport...

wxo - thanks for the test drive. With the memory seats the only way you should know I was even in the car is the mileage for that tank might be down a little 8) For next time: Right now I am planning to be at the meet on Friday and Saturday. We should also have an alternate plan if the weather is lo...

I have temporarily cured my self of my addiction to the Civilization game, and I have prepared my Lumina for sale, so I am starting back up on the Corvette. I still do not have a resolution on my rear end issue, but I am not tackling that first. Instead I have decided to work on the tach. I want to ...

Locked & loaded. Sweet. Does it have speed rated tires? Not that we would need them of course. CD player? I have the new Nickelback. Not sure if it will be allowed since they have a Ford on the CD case cover and a Chrysler on the back. Need a radar detector? John is going with Fred32v and so we...

This is odd. First the easy one: 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. I have heard of similar problems where 5 and 7 are crossed. Assuming you already checked that 3 times, I could guess that a bad lifter may cause this problem. When the engine is off during compression test, the valve is closing all the way because th...

The first pictures I have of the 460 that we loaded into fred32v's Ranger were dated 10/21/2000. If I recall correclty this was already being planned before that. On 10/21/2000 my youngest was just over six months old, the Camaro was still in production, LTV Steel was still in business, and the twin...

With good traction and a good stall converter 400 rear wheel HP should take you into the low 12's easy. IIRC Tiresmoker was making a little over 300 at the wheels and I am pretty sure he was running 12.80's or 90's at the time. I would guess you have a good chance to make 11's on that HP if you can ...
