The replacement oil pump did not fix the oil light coming on at idle when engine is warmed up. At least I know it is not because the bearings are spun. It is going to get some STP or 20W50. I learned a ton about O2 sensors and the computer system. I tested the O2 sensor out of the car - just hook up...

1-day delay for new users

Tiresmoker,

Can we set this up to force a 24 hour delay for new users? It might cut down on the spammers.

Red is front and blue is rear. Thats how I would set it up. Are you changing the proportioning valve too?

I put the car out by the street last Sat - the neighbor saw it and called. I told them $850, but apparently that is too much money for them. I presume they want a running car. Looked at the right front headlight. all the silver stuff is gone on the inside back of the lens so not much hope there. Tri...

I'll be entering the beauty contest, and I'm not shaving my back this time!!! -BP Are you going with the 1-piece or 2-piece? Better get to work on those man b**bs. Who is setting up the reservations? Once I clear the garage of the Olds Calais repair challenge, the Vette is getting shocks, b...

That looks interesting Walt. I don't know if I would make the drive for a separate event, but maybe one year we could go there instead of Carlisle. It would probably be good if you could check it out and let us know if we could make a weekend of it.

We might have to negotiate a deal on that converter. If the Camaro won't pass echeck it is going to need a converter, and I assume that one is probably 2 1/2". Is it still around?

Eh, I was just having a little fun. Me too. You know that if it has an accelerator pedal, I'll try to race it - runs in the family. P.S. I think your headlights are misaligned. The drivers side seemed high and the other low. Thanks for the heads up - The right side has a crack in it so not m...

So I put the air filter back in, and after some discussion with Fred32v, decided to put some E85 in the car to try to cut down on the emissions. I put about .8 gallons of E85 in with about 3 gallons of regular unleaded. Another test showed emissions improved by about 10% but fell way short of the le...

OK all the rod bearings have been replaced and the car is back on the road. Also put in new plugs. The crank is .25mm undersize - they had bearings for the undersize crank in stock at Autozone. Not knowing how many thousandths are in .25mm, I used plastigage on one of the bearings - and clearance ap...

The leak was not too difficult - the cam housing to timing chain housing gasket is not symmetrical and it was on backwards. I was more deliberate when putting the chain back on and I havethe timing right now. There was one extra link between the cams on the last try. I also discovered that a heater ...

The cover is leaking in two places. One is definitely where the cover and the exhaust cam tower come together so I have started the disassembly process. :(

I hope it is an easy obvious problem.

Yes. But I have seen worse.

It is not hiding under a cover
It does not have boxes and things stacked up on it
None of the tires are flat

It is sitting inside a dry garage

Oh and I still own it. It will be there when I need it

there is a definite oil leak from the timing chain cover. I don't know if it is the front or back yet, so more investigation is needed. I think I'll get that fixed before I plate it.

I could stand to get a harmonic balancer for a Quad 4. Anyone have one?
