Re: iRacing broadcasts

I quit the Alpha Touring Challenge after the last race. It was at Watkins Glen and on the last lap going into 2nd last corner (Left turn) the guy next to me moved right and ran me of the track and into a wall. I had started in the pits to avoid melee and worked my way up to P25 only to lose 7 ...

Re: 1987 Corvette Z52

There’s a nice compartment on the right side behind the seat where the battery could fit. Interesting after the changes you made how well balanced it is. Like no A/C and the LS have to be taking weight off the front. The 44 adds a little to the back also

Re: My SD Garage

When my detached garage was put up they sprayed the concrete with clear which seemed like a great idea until the first time gas spilled and ate through it. I’m sure some of it still has the clear.

It’ll be interesting to see how your experience with jacks and jackstands go - that would probably ...

Re: 2010 Chevy Silverado

The bed

When buying this truck we could see the cross braces under the bed were rusted. Walking in the bed I could hear them crunching under there. It also had rust at the tops of the wheel wells but looked pretty salvageable.

To fix this the bed had to come off. This was not a very complicated ...

Re: 1997 Pontiac Firebird

If you do some digging you can probably find someone who has fashioned a baffle in the tank - assuming you want to run it with less fuel to save weight. In my Saturn we took an STP gallon oil jug (very rectangular), cut off the top, and drilled 3/8 holes in the front and back at the bottom of the ...

Re: iRacing broadcasts

Again I ran a race in Alpha Touring Challenge on Monday that they broadcast on Tuesday: https://youtu.be/Yc5pv5zBFSY?si=YnF81ARJQHfW51ak&t=2055 All the practice was dry but the rain came for the race. Luckily I practiced in the rain a little.

The American Muscle Series Brands Hatch race was decent ...

Re: 1997 Pontiac Firebird

Sounds like some good upgrades. Where does it get on track? Autocross? Track days?

Re: iRacing broadcasts

Last Monday I ran in Alpha Touring Challenge at Charlotte Roval. Video link here: https://youtu.be/G5OP5EJXeYI?si=1IxOgUJDBh6YZk9P&t=2044 Standing starts were awful I have to learn how to launch the car, but lots of respectful driving in these two sprint races. Admittedly I don't get much coverage ...

Re: iRacing broadcasts

WGI ended up being a clean race, with no mayhem on lap 1 so my early pit strategy didn't save much. I switched from the Elantra to the Audi RS3. The Audit steers like a tank but it's faster on the straight. I was about .3 faster per lap with the Audi. I tanked qualifying so I could pit coming to ...

Re: 2010 Chevy Silverado

There have been several delays not related to the truck, and a lot of time put into the bed repair which is not done yet. I do have a few items to report.

Tow hooks

Acquired some at pull a part, which were cleaned, painted and installed. While I was under the front I noticed the air dam was ...

Re: MIA

I've got like 300 lbs of extra hand tools sitting around over here - not sure what u need but I'm dealing.

90 minutes isn't too bad but you can't just pop in and work on it for an hour. Nice chunk of land.

Re: MIA

Big backhoe will tend to be cheaper than a compact tractor with a backhoe and compact tractors can walk off pretty easily too with a half decent full size pickup. The Chinese mini excavators are cheap but no warranties and pretty much a crap shoot as to how good they are.

What city is this in and ...

Re: iRacing broadcasts

The ChampCar iRacing enduro featured 12 cars, and due to one disqualification we ended up P9 - too many mistakes cost us time and we had to use both fast repairs.

Last Sunday I raced again with XSLR on the rallycross track at Road Atlanta and not surprisingly I got wrecked again in T1 lap 1, though ...
