Re: Yamaha FJR
While Dave and crew were destroying differentials (In all humor) I was in Maggie Vally NC.
"Tail of the Dragon" was on my bucket list, and so it was accomplished. Also, was the Blue Ridge Pky. All in all, 1582 miles in 5days.

Re: 1979 Malibu
Ideally, you want the tongue to be level. But as previously stated, you don't have much of an option. Send it!
Tongue weight is key. 10-15% of the overall trailer weight, on the tongue.

I've used Bull Dog in the past. Matter of fact, my 2011 Equinox has one of their batteries in it now. I think I got it at around 80k miles, now has 178k.
According to all the Internet FJR aficionados, Yuasa with the AGM technology is the way to go.

The FJR has the original battery. 9yrs old. (She's a 2015)
I did the research, and thought I bought a correct replacement.
Nope.
I hate it when this happens.

Re: 1979 Malibu
Good choice on the hitch. Less weight than a Class2. (40ish lbs)
Nice trailer too! 4x8? What's the make?

Re: Returning Smoker
I can remember when I first got the Challenger.
I'd be in the sub triple digits, and wouldn't realize it until I looked at the spedo....
As time went on, (and Cooper tires) I learned to watch my speed.

My '17 Challenger SXT was all stock. 14'3s uh...... yea.
Well, it did have a Class2 hitch. That's good for an extra 40lbs....
Keep us posted on what yours runs.

Returning Smoker
Well, after a 10yr absence, I'm back. Now retired, but working part-time. Needed to get out of the house kinda thing.... I haven't been to the old TDR since it changed ownership, but I see rather substantial changes. I'll post some pics later, but know that I'm still pounding the pavement, just now ...
