Rotor Paint Job

38,040 ….. I did this project about a week ago but have been a bit lazy about posting it. It really wasn’t a hard project, but one that needed to be done. Before I got the car, the dealer had new brakes and tires installed on it. They used uncoated rear rotors, so they were all rusty. I painted them ...

Re: 2026 Honda Passport TrailSport

It’s part of our lives now that we’re reliant on computerization for
everything. It’s so good when it works the right way, but when a failure
comes along, it’s not a good thing. Obviously, a missing fuse is some
sort of quality control situation, but a bad module right off the rip is
a bit scary ...

Re: 2003 S-10

BP,

I had to straighten the wheel on my El Camino and it was a matter of
adjusting the tie rod sleeves the same amount on the left as you adjust
them on the right. It was really pretty simple and I got it in a few tries
as I recall. Look it up on YouTube.

Re: 1991 Jaguar XJ-S

I’m still a huge leaper fan, BUT I’m also someone who likes the
stock look the most. I guess Jag didn’t see it fit to put the Leaper
on, so you’re stuck with a badge. On to the next problem for you.

Your fog lights look great. When are you getting a
Leaper?

Re: 2008 Corvette Coupe

Without too much to do on the C6, I figured I’d give a small update. I’ve reached out to the
local speed shop to get on their work list to get the harmonic dampener change done. At the
same time I’m going to have the shifter cable grommets changed and the electronic park
pawl solenoid bypassed ...

C6 model year reference video

I found this while scrolling around the internet. Interesting facts on the C6 models.
Turns out I bought the right year!

Re: Problem#8 - wood panels degraded

I experimented with an idea for fixing those cracks in the clear finish. I had read that the finish on the wood panels is lacquer, and lacquer can be reworked usually just by applying lacquer thinner. The finish on older Jaguars might have been lacquer, but mine is not. It did not soften at all ...

Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette

WXO,

I think your stainless tube idea is sweet! I’d surround a small nut in
the JB Weld. If you put a bolt in the nut when you apply the JB, you’ll
be able to hold it straight so it will be perpendicular to the armrest.
Just a thought! JB is your friend!

Re: 1991 Jaguar XJ-S

AK,

Reading your post reminded me of trying to fix the tach in my ‘65 442.
The tach wouldn’t perform correctly with the Pertronix set up in it, but
it would work correctly with the points ignition. If I recall correctly, a Tach
Adapter was required to make the signal correct. The question I have is ...

Re: 1991 Jaguar XJ-S

It’s cool that it has its own distinctive sound. My ‘66 442 with the tri-carb had a very different induction sound which made it nearly impossible to keep your foot off of the go pedal! When driving, it was more fun to listen to the car than the radio!
