Re: 2012 Nissan Xterra

Nothing makes you appreciate an air compressor more than doing things
the old fashioned way! Fortunately, low pressure and volume will make
this a great solution. Now, if you have to blow one of the tires up to 45
psi...………..

Re: 89 Corvette Mostmint #39

I might have some gauges from the 442. I gave AK the oil pressure gauge to use
for his Nissan. I should have water temp and volts. I'll check this weekend and
let you know.

Re: Solder Seal Wire Connectors

I haven't used these myself, but they look interesting. I can say that I've seen the crimp style versions of these work extremely well and durational. At my old job, they'd use them for trailer wire repairs ( trailers are ALWAYS outside, ALWAYS dirty, wet or salty ) and the crimp style ones WITH shr...

Re: Fred32v's Little Jimmy

My wife has the same truck and loves it. I've had the opportunity to drive it many times and it's a nice riding truck with plenty of room inside so it's comfortable to be in for a long drive. It has plenty of power and it gets about 20 mph with her driving mostly back roads and stop and go. There's ...

Oil Filter Quality Video

I saw this on an Oldsmobile page. It's pretty interesting, and will have you
staying away from Fram filters.

Re: Discount Tire too much air pressure

Our resident mechanic friend says always run your tires at least 5 lbs. over what the manufacturer recommends. He said it keeps the tires more square and keeps you from wearing out the outsides of the tires. Apparently, he sees a bunch of today's newer wider tires that have a ton of wear on the outs...

Re: What are these??

I think Mostmint is correct. There are stainless band clamp muffler clamps on
the other side. They may be some type of muffler replacement so the factory muffler
can be removed and the tailpipe still sticks out in the factory spot... ???

Re: 2016 Regal Turbo

Snow tires on and ready for winter, tpms reprogrammed -- 50,155 miles. The factory
tires are about 1/4" from the wear bars. I have to decide if I want to ride them through
next summer or buy new ones over the winter.

I've been thinking of a way to sand bag it, but the motor is in. I agree that a bit of weight over the
winter would help.

Re: 1966 OLDS 442

Today I changed the front springs on the 442. I always thought that the front end sat up too high. I bought new springs for $80.00 delivered to my house. I purchased Moog springs for a 1966 Cutlass without air conditioning. The total job took me about two and a half hours, which included about 20 mi...

Nice upgrade! Did you trade the old truck in, or is it going to Craigslist?

Re: TRP 09-26-18

My best run of 14.37 was run against Fred's truck. I was busy watching the guy behind me burnout when the tree fell and cut a sweet .4xx light. I just about caught him when I ran out of track. My lights were better on the next two runs. .07 & .08. I was doing pretty well in the finals until I bl...

Re: 1966 OLDS 442

This was taken from the internet regarding the factory 1966 442 quarter mile times: "Car Life tested an L69 4-4-2 with four-speed transmission and obtained a 0–60 time of 6.3 seconds and a quarter mile of 14.8 seconds at 97 mph (156 km/h).[5] Motor Trend's similar test car ran 0–60 in 7.2 secon...
