215-75 R14's

I'm making a wheel and tire change on the 442. These are my steel wheels and
tires. They're really nice still. If anybody on Tiresmoke wants them, I'll make it a
better deal.

Re: One Man Car Show

I couldn't get a pic fast enough, but yesterday, as I was driving on 422 west of Solon,
I saw "The Fringe" going east. It was mint.

Re: Great Lakes google map roadie

I've used Google maps a million times with work. When routing trucks to drop off machines, this is an unbelievable tool. In my first few months there, I had to learn how to dispatch the drivers which includes mapping out their routes ahead of time. Google Maps is the best for this. They'll even give...

I really love my TBSS, but I miss the third pedal and the Hurst on the floor.

You're welcome to take it for a spin the next time you're up in the area!

Re: 1966 OLDS 442

I seemed to be in the mood for grunt work this past weekend. Not only did I do the wheel bearings, I replaced the u-joints as well. I purchased them from Advance Auto online, and picked them up at the store. For some reason, it's 25% cheaper that way. The work wasn't horrible and took about 2 hours ...

Re: 1966 OLDS 442

While searching out Oldsmobile parts that I really don't NEED ( but want ), I found a guy who had a whole set of seatbelts for the 442. Keep in mind that you can get reproduction seatbelts for all 1966 Oldsmobile seatbelts, except for the kind that I have. ( These reproductions are about $100 for th...

Re: 2003 S-10

How hard is it to remove the headlight assembly? The 2000 GS Regal was a piece of cake
and when I was at the strip, I'd remove it.

Chardon Car Show

The Chardon Area Chamber of Commerce has a car show on Sunday, July 14th starting at 10 am. Is anybody on Tiresmoke interested in going? You can prepay by sending in your $10, or can register at 8:30 am on the day of the show. I'm close enough to show-clean to be able to go to this show, so I might ...

Re: 2003 S-10

A guy on an Olds forum this weekend asked what guys were doing to keep their big blocks cool in the summer months. The one guy said that he removes the rubber seal between the firewall and the hood to let hot air out. It seemed like a pretty decent idea, and may work for you as opposed to purchasing...

Re: 1966 OLDS 442

I took advantage of a Monday vacation day to wax the 442 today. It was a pretty quick job, as all I needed to do was put a protective coating on the already buffed out paint. I used a Mequiar's cleaner wax that I've used many times before. I had two bottles of the stuff, so, naturally, I used the bo...

I'm sure it would've made a huge difference. The next time I go to use the buffer, I'll use it for sure.

Re: 1966 OLDS 442

It has been SOOOOO rainy. It makes road time incredibly difficult to come by. I did get a chance to drive to breakfast on Saturday morning. It sprinkled a few times, but the roads stayed dry. The sky opened up for the rest of the weekend, so I was forced to work in the barn. I put a new fan belt on....
