Re: 1972 Maverick Sprint - Phase 2

Funny thing is when I offered it up on the Maverick forum for $14K, I didn't get any offers or serious responses. He puts it on ebay for $13.5K and the Maverick forum guys are posting compliments, saying its worth the price and even cheap. Go figure. It's only ever worth what someone will pay. Comm...

Re: 1972 Maverick Sprint - Phase 2

Just checked in the forum today. first time in months. Saw this post. Somehow it makes me feel sad. I hoped the guy that bought it would keep it a long time. BTW, how much did he pay for it?

You should have gone to the 1/4 mile while the weather was still cool! If its too hot the performance will probably fall off a bit.

Way to go! Its not tooting your own horn. Its just showing that people appreciate a well done car. And it is nice to have your hard work appreciated.

Re: Island Dragway May 6, 2012

Congratulations on the win Dick!! The consistent reaction times are amazing to me. So, what ET did you dial in? Very nice trophy. Thinking it might run ok I dialed 11.55 for rd 1. I ran 11.60. I left it at 11.55 for ran 2 and ran exactly the same 11.60. For rd 3 I changed to 11.58 and ran 11.63. I ...

Re: Island Dragway May 6, 2012

Hey Dick. If you had a laptop and HP Tuners you could run a scan to find the problem. 8) You wouldn't have to change all that stuff. Great story and great win! Congrats. Of course you are right Walt. But i am so old school that I rarely use my recording Tach! Actually I usually screw up t...

Re: Dunn Benson Drag Strip

Just saw the latest posts. WAY TO GO Maverick! Jim I told you that car should be a 12 second car. That engine builder built a real nice piece. Good power, pump gas and streetable. You know it has potential for low 12s, but might have to take away some of the niceties that make it a fun street car. A...
