Re: Chevelle Upgrades, 2020

So, while it was fun to make it to the track, the 105 MPH was a big let down. Since I've made a bunch of changes, I called TI Dyno and made an appointment. He has a slot open this Saturday, which was super-tempting, but I made a deal with my dad to fix the power top on his Z4, so I had to settle for...

Re: TRP 8-5-2020

I had a pretty terrible night, but I'm honestly just happy I got to go out for the 3rd week in a row, and finally with the Chevelle. Car was running great everywhere, except up top. As I'd get to 6000 RPM, the RPM signal the computer would go to 0. And when RPM re-registered, the O2-correction doesn...

Re: Rock-n-Race

I saw the advertising, but didn't head out there. Was it a cool event? How was the music? Did you camp?

That Tailgate Tormentor is great!!

Re: Chevelle Upgrades, 2020

I picked up a single coil at Napa for $50. It seems to have resolved the issue. I'll switch the injectors back and I should be good to go for Wednesday!!

Nope, still bad. I tried driving to your place yesterday and didnt get but a couple miles down Wilson Mills before turning around. New coils on order.

TRP 8-5-2020

Forecast looking very favorable for Wednesday. I'll either bring the bike again, or the Chevelle if it's ready. Brakes felt good on last test drive, coil issue remains.

Re: Chevelle Upgrades, 2020

So I swapped injectors last night, replacing the 36's with 30's. When I first fired it up, it was still no better on #5. I took one of the 36lb injectors, plugged it in and started the car (injector just sitting on intake) and I could feel it clicking, so the wiring is good. Then I swapped the coils...

Re: Chevelle Upgrades, 2020

It feels like constant 1 step forward, 2 steps back. I think I finally have the brakes resolved, (yay!) but the engine isn't running right.. argh. It seems the #5 injector may not be providing fuel. #5 exhaust tube is colder than the others with my infrared heat gun. When I pull the injector connect...

Re: TRP 7-29-20

Well, an interesting night, for sure. There was a pretty good crowd on hand this week, but the weather was looking a little suspect. Sure enough, at 6:45 it started sprinkling for about 15 minutes. I still hadn't gotten a time run. When they resumed after spending the better part of an hour drying t...

Re: Chevelle Upgrades, 2020

After the last bleeding attempt failed miserably, I did what any good mechanic would do -- just replace all the parts! The line going to RF has had a splice (compression fitting) for decades and the internet tells me im doomed to have such a thing. The calipers are now 20+ yrs old. So I replaced the...
