Re: 1990 Corvette Z51

So as it happened, I drove both the Chevelle and the Corvette yesterday down Wilson Mills. The Chevelle will hole-shot the Vette like crazy, but the Vette has really good pull through the gears. I really wanna get these on the dragstrip, side-by-side. It would be a ton of fun, and generate some good...

1990 Corvette Z51

I bought a car today! This is the first car that I was able to see via live video call before I went up there. We used Google Duo. What a great way to check out a car before heading out. It's a 1990 Corvette, L98/6sp, with the Z51 & FX3 suspension options. 90k miles. It's been upgraded with AFR ...

Re: Upgrade to Megasquirt 3/3X

I've been gathering my pieces parts and soon will be decision time on where to mount the coils. I bought some brackets that will allow me to mount them on centerbolt valve covers. They are really nice pieces, and provide a super-clean install, but I have some sweet perimeter bolt covers that I don't...

Re: 1985 V8-S10 Blazer

So, I've been working on this thing a bunch the past couple of weeks. After getting the Sniper back from service by Holley, I pulled the non-computer control large-cap HEI distributor and install a small-cap HEI and MSD 6AL with Blaster SS coil. That should be a pretty solid ignition system. On the ...

Re: The Cleveland Car Show 2019

This is gonna be tough -- I'm watching my sister's dog that week and Gwen will be travelling for work. If I can get someone to feed and let them out, I'll be there.

Re: 1985 V8-S10 Blazer

I had a productive Saturday night in the garage this past weekend. Sometime after installing the Sniper, the 10-pin connector flopped onto the exhaust manifold and melted the housing a little bit. Everything worked, but looked bad and was compromised from a sealing perspective. I contacted Holley an...

Re: Interesting test of different adhesives

While JB Weld can't hold the head on I wonder if it could be the head gasket with the bolts in? The trying to hold on the head with only glue was silly, but still funny. No head bolts? How about just 1 or 2. But even before reading Maverick's reply, I would've said it would run. But gluing the piec...

I had no idea just how good JB Weld was until I watched this.

Re: Solder Seal Wire Connectors

Looks interesting.. I did a lot of splicing/soldering when I built the Saturn's Megasquirt harness last year, so I can appreciate the use of something like this.
