Re: Chevelle Projects 2024

Since I really got nothing on the list done on the car last year, I'm just going to continue on this thread for now.

Not even on the list, I've had a hard-start issue on the first start of the day for a while. Subsequent starts would always be easier, but it turned out I had another crank sensor ...

Re: 1979 Malibu

There hasn't been much off-season activity with Maliboost. I changed the oil and the spark plugs. However, I'm pretty sure I managed to cross-thread the #5 cylinder. The new one is in there and I fired it up for a few seconds, it sounds normal. But I bought a spark-plug thread chaser just in case ...

Re: 1963 Corvette

So Michael's was able to turn around fixing my carb stud holes in just a couple days, which was nice. I got it back the day before I left for Florida to be with Dad, so everything sat on hold.

The intake is bolted down and the carb fits as expected now. I bought a 14x2" air filter that allows the ...

Re: 1963 Corvette

I am way behind here...

Speece came out one night and we did a bunch of work to the Edelbrock C4B intake. We heli-coiled the carb mounting holes and one of the thermostat holes. Annnnd then I figured out it wasn't going to work. The stock thermostat housing doesn't fit -- it hits the big runner ...

That would be cool, but somehow I doubt it gets into production.

Re: 1963 Corvette

After too many years of an improper air cleaner setup under the hood, I finally started to do something about it. I built this engine in 2011 and used Vortec heads, because they are The Best factory heads made. I topped it with a Performer 2116 for Vortec heads, despite Edelbrock's catalog saying it ...

Re: 2024 year in review

2024 marked the first year ever for me where my drag racing efforts were focused on a car other than my Chevelle.

Took a memorable adventure to Kentucky with Tony for Chevelle parts and ended up at the VetteCon Comic-Convention at the Corvette Museum.

Took a fun little trip to Florida to visit my ...
