Re: 1965 Oldsmobile 442

My vote is existing mags with white letter tires. As for turnkey and dependable, is a Holley Sniper EFI an option? A little upfront investment but would get gains in both power and mileage that would justify it - not to mention time and sanity.

Re: 2012 Jaguar XJ Supercharged

For the past few weeks, I’ve been dealing with a slow leak on one wheel despite new tires. The shop couldn’t find a leak but we suspected the old weld repair might have a developed a crack. Anyway, that was enough to make me sand and polish that new set of rims I got on the cheap that had some curb ...

Re: 2012 Jaguar XJ Supercharged

It may be Paul’s bday, but I’m very happy and got a nice present today. Red lines are pulley only and blue lines are with tune. Assuming 20% loss for an automatic, that’s 600hp @ crank, almost 130hp gain for $1K. *does a happy dance*. F66D6E52-11F4-4A8E-939E-35141E26BD1B.png Not much more I can do p...

Re: 1979 Malibu

Orange you glad Andy and his trailer were available? Looks awesome! What’s the weight difference and thus the expected times?

Re: 2012 Jaguar XJ Supercharged

This is a good comparison between the SuperSport and the Supercharged. Which I’m kind like the SS at the moment. After tune it will basically be a XJR575. https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a1 ... xj-review/

Re: 2012 Jaguar XJ Supercharged

The XJ is back from the shop with all new shoes, fluids, water pump and coolant pipes. All good maintenance stuff and the brakes are fine for now. I ended up having the supercharger shout replaced with a 7.5% reduction for another 1.5lbs boost and perhaps 20hp or so. Definitely much stronger In the ...

My bad, pulled it for a 2021 per Edmonds. Must be the batteries.

Re: 2012 Jaguar XJ Supercharged

I did a little research and the price difference between the XJ Supercharged and XJR575 is $30K MSRP, though closer to 25 if you consider the extras it includes. Regardless, a bargain to get that same power for $1000. Fun fact: my buddy has a 2018 Mustang GT. Decided to check out the weight differen...

Re: 2012 Jaguar XJ Supercharged

Getting the car back on Monday. Went ahead and took car of the water pump and supercharger snout while I had it in for tires and fluids. Should be safe and sound now. Which means being more liberal with gas pedal. Oh, and that rebuilt snout comes with the 7.5% reduction pulley for another 1.5lbs boo...

Re: 2012 Jaguar XJ Supercharged

Cleaned up nice. Interior is mint. Outside not bad but ultimately would need a paint correction to be super sweet.

2012 Jaguar XJ Supercharged

I’m baaaack. Picked one up with 83K miles and every bell and whistle. Stickered for about $95K. It’s already a blast with 470hp but a tune and pulley will get me another 100hp for about $1200. Nothing major found by the dealer. Dropping it off with a euro mechanic next week to baseline it i.e. all f...

Re: 2004 SRT-10 Regular Cab

I think I’m gonna buy some cheap old fashioned traction help i.e. a couple bags of sand. What’s another couple hundred pounds?
