Daughters are cute

Post by Fred32v »

That yellow scooter is a nice little project, but I think your daughters are your best work.
Before you know it you will be walking them down the isle. Enjoy them while you have them. :D

Ok, so I wasn't really paying attention and missed that whole gasoline vs electric thingie :)

Solar panels? Gives it pseudo-carbon fiber look. Some expertise in our area even!

Scooter/Kids

Post by Racin'Jacin »

Hi Fred, Actually only ONE of them is my daughter. The other is my daughters friend - she's ALMOST as adorable as my "CJ" is.

Please don't remind me of the future (j/k)- I am SO happy seeing them this second right now - I could forgo the rest!!!

In actuality though - I DO have 2 rugrats - there's my son - possible future "car guy" - hopefully. If either decides they are seriously "into" Old Hot Rods - I have an Early (20's or 30's) Chevy truck in pieces - possibly a father son or father daughter project. Only problem - I'm OUT of garage space!!!!!!! Good thing I have a few years to clean up my act!!!!

Solar - now THERE'S a thought!!!!!!!!!!!! First I gotta get rest of the wirign to work though - I get anal about certain stuff having to work!!! <wink>

That's a great picture of your daughter and her friend on the scooter. The only problem is we don't know which one is your daughter.

As far as solar goes, I think a bimini style top covered with solar cells would be just the ticket. And flames. What about flames?

If it's electric, you can't do flames. Need to go with lighting bolts!! :)

Lightening bolts

Post by Racin'Jacin »

Lightening Bolts -of course!!! NOW we're talkin' !!!

And just to keep things straight - here's a pic of my Daughter Cameron - a preview to Fred's prediction.

And of course if you're a "car guy" into Early Hemi's you'd name your son.........Donovan - of course!

With the white dress I can almost make out the halo and wings.
If Donavan is anything like Mostmint, GMJohnny, or BasementPaul,
He will be helping and handing you wrenches for a long time.
I like the old pickup possibilities with you two.

My Father supported this sickness that we have by providing each of my boys with a jalopy.
To their credit, through all the body work and motor swaps, the family budget never incured any
of their automotive expenses. Maintaining those vehicles created some great bench racing stories. :)

I support WXO's idea, I thing the scooter would make a great canvas for a lightining bolt. 8)

Yeah. Lightening bolts! We need some lightening bolts. I'm glad I thought of it.

Because it is electric, I would paint a picture of a wall outlet or maybe an old fashioned knife switch on the side with lightning bolts coming out of it or surrounding it. You really need to show the serious power you are dealing with in your paint job!!!

I know the old car saying is that it's all about the cubic inches. But if you go solar, it's all about the square inches :)

Heh, with all the bolts on the side of it, I can just imagine the nickname "Greased Lightning" :)

You could do this one for the rainy season.

Scooter Update

Post by Racin'Jacin »

Well I've been draggin' my feet on getting back to the scooter project, but finally buckled down to make the new decklid. I copied the factory lid fairly close except I made it out of a little thicker material. I still need to make brackets for a seat belt for the kids... Still got some winter time left!!
