Have to log in twice?

Post by MostMint »

Both at work and at home I have to log in twice. After the first login it shows I am logged in at the bottom, but at the top it still gives me the option to log in.

Anyone else having this problem?

Yup, until just now.
This was the first time, in a long time, that it took only once, to login.

I used to have the same problem with someone else's phpBB, but I've never had this problem here. The phpBB support forum is down at the moment. I'll try again tonight.

I still have to log in twice every time. And in just a short time I get timed out.

Also it seems I am not getting email notification when new posts come in. Anyone else having this problem?

I'm able to log in only once each time. No problem. I also get email notices.

OK I was about to retract the "no email notification comment", since I found a recent email in my "bulk folder" on yahoo. But as of now I did not get email notification on wxo's post to this thread.

I double-checked your profile settings and you should indeed be getting the emails. Since you found one in your bulk mail, I would double-check your spam filtering on your email. If AOL has "white-listing" for email, I would add *@tiresmoke.org to it.

I changed the cookie settings per a post I found here:

http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 146&hilit=

Try logging out of Tiresmoke.org, then logging back in. I changed the cookie settings per this post, we'll see if it works. I don't have the problem here, so it's hard for me to test, but I've experienced it on other webboards that use phpBB.

Login twice no longer an issue at work - thanks for looking into this. I'll check at home tonight.
