TRP April 4th
Looks like TRP is scheduled to open on April 4th, with a Test-n-Tune. 10a-5p.
I'll be there with ... something.
There's the 4-door supercharged V6 -- low 14s
Then there's the coupe with the turbocharged I4 -- low 14s, allegedly.
Then there's the V-twin powered motorcycle -- mid 12s
And finally (maybe) the N/A V8 -- low 12s.
Life is full of good choices!

Well, VeeDub and I were the lone TSO peeps out at Thompson today. It was clear, cold and WINDY. It was windy enough that I was worried about my little tray with hamburger and fries falling on the ground while I was trying to get some ketchup. Not very comfortable standing outside the car-- wind blew off my hat several times.
I took the '08 Cobalt SS. I lowered the front tires to about 26 psi and had the rears around 38. Removed the spare from the trunk before I left home. Other than that, it's bone stock. Not even a K&N. (yet)
Launching a high-power stick shift FWD is tough. It's really hard to tame the wheelspin in 1st gear. 60-foot times ranged from 2.22 to 2.4x and it makes all the difference in the world. My first pass was an encouraging 14.19 @ 103, but with a 2.38 (!!) 60-ft. Next passes were 14.36, 14.13, 14.29, 14.12, 13.85, and 14.07.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iX_wUD2leeE (13.85 pass)
On another note, it seemed like Mopar day out there. There were 3 Challengers (including an SRT8), a tuned up Charger, a modified Cherokee SRT8 (running high 11s). They were all very strong running cars, solidly or deep in the 12s. There was a mild-sounding Chevy pickup (1500 Sport) running low 12s @ 110. Looked stock except for small cowl hood.
