XM Radio installed
The Silverado came w/o XM, my other ride has XM, so I wanted "Bluegrass" in my winter ride to the casinos.
I didn't want it stuck on. Enter GM Parts Direct, see

Well, this kit needed to be installed. Flat rate is 1.4 hours, a pro took 3 hours his first time, well I have probably
5 hours invested, but the result was extremely satisfying when the radio came to life with the 2 XM bands.
If I could do it again I think that I could beat the 1.4 hour flat rate.
The Silverado is not any faster but now it's a whole lot more fun to be in.
I can't stop grinning.

Polka CDs
Unfortunately there are only a few 100 channels and no polka channel,
but I put Pecon, Fedorchak, or Tady into the CD player and I'm good to go.
Years ago there was a "Special X" channel that played polka music,
but I've looked for it and it's not available anymore, very sad.

Running Boards
I purchased running boards early in the spring. They were no longer available through GM Parts Direct,
but with help from Mark at Classic Chevy, a set was found at a dealership on the east coast.
I grit my teeth and said get them. Unlike other GM accessaries installs, my personal attempt to install them
did not go well. So I farmed them out. He was to paint and install them. Well, they were too long and were
going to interfere with my expensive moulded mud flaps. They were shortened two and a half inches,
then painted and FINALLY installed in September. My wife was the motivation for this modification,
and she and I are both pleased with the result.
Also replaced the OEM Goodyears with the Bridgestone H/L's. What a difference!
