Looks awesome! Between more air and upgrading the fan, that thing should be a lot more fun to drive. Then with radial tires it should feel like a whole new truck.

I ordered tires on Wednesday, they showed up today. 265/75-16's. Here's what I bought:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/381569477054?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

I got them because the load rating was 116 (not 112 or 114), the tread was good, there were no
letters on the tires, they had good reviews and the price was right. The rims are dry and ready
to have the tires installed on them. I'll search for a place to get them installed this week.

More to come.......

With free shipping and most likely no tax, that's a great deal! Shipping would NOT be cheap on those.

The tires were ordered on a Wednesday and landed on my side porch on Friday. A call to the infamous
Paul Carson got me in the shop and mounting and balancing happened last Sunday. On my day off today,
I was able to get them on the truck, and I'm pleased. They look way better with the wider tire and rims.
I didn't even get out of the driveway and I knew that the radials were a great call. The ride is infinitely
superior to the bias ply tires. They also absorb way more of the road, so the 3/4 ton suspension feels way
more mild. Nice upgrade!! During the install, I realized that the Ford wheels will make it so I can get
hubcaps that match the front ones and they will hide the Dana axle. The current rear hubcaps were cut
out to accommodate the axle sticking out. I'm now on the prowl for 2 rear caps. I also tried to put my
newly refurbished clutch fan in the truck this evening. I made an assumption that it would clear the shroud.
It doesn't. My current fan is 18" across, Tiresmoker's race fan is 19.5" across. GRRRRRR! I will search out
a smaller fan.

I'm editing this post for those not on the book of faces..... The truck flipped 100,000 miles on Tuesday night.
.......and I let my wife drive it. I told her it was the easiest stick shift she would ever drive. Ha!!

So.... I've been getting this Oldsmobile itch lately. Not sure why, but it's happening to me. Today
Fred32V and I went to Elyria to look at a 66 442. We took the truck there because we might be able to
use it as a partial payment on the 442, if it all worked out. The one salesman looked at it and said that
he didn't want to offend me by offering me $7000 for it. So I went home and, for the heck of it, put it
on Craigslist. It sold tonight. Money to be exchanged tomorrow night..... End of a chapter! There's a side
of me that will miss this truck. It was always so good to me, but I have this Oldsmobile itch..... I need
a 65, 66 or 67 Cutlass..... Starting the search.
