Nice. What running condition and cost if you care to share?

I was advocating Kurt get something like this if he wants a stick shift car.

It's not perfect. Needs a heater core and a tune up was sitting for 2 months. It was $2000 plus $600 shipping. Those rims are worth at least $1000. I saw a set for $1600 a few days ago. Once I get home, get plates, insurance and drive it, I will update you. BTW. I have surprise for you next week. I'll drop it by your Dads or Pauls.

Looks insanely solid. I didn't think they made these here that early. Really cool, especially for that money.

BMW 540i
In 1993 BMW added a 4.0-liter V8 to the 5 Series lineup. It was available in both sedan and touring models (the latter not in US). Its large, torquey engine, upgraded brakes, and 5-speed automatic or rare optional 6-speed transmission (offered in 1995 in North America, and from 1993 to 1996 in Europe) made it very competitive in the sports sedan market. Only 3203 examples of the 540i 6spd were produced.

Here are the rims I will be getting. 18" M parallel.

This black car is an M Sport, different fascia, ground effects and blacked out trim.

SO Tuesday I take the 540i to get emissions and it fails. Maybe because it had been sitting for 2 months before I got, maybe because I didn't really drive it before taking to the emissions station. Kid says drive it about 40-50 miles before bringing it back to make sure the cats are nice and warm. So Tuesday night I figure it wouldn't hurt to change the plugs too. Well the car seemed to have amiss when I got it, I figured it was just from sitting, old gas maybe plugs, whatever. Well when i remove the second plug I find a majority of the electrode missing. It had been missing for a while, that explains the miss. It still doesn't run quite right but it does cruise nice and will spin the tires shifting into second gear.

I drove it 50 miles after changing the plugs Tuesday night and then another 40 miles Wednesday morning before my second emissions check. Well it did finally pass. So it is all legal now. Next week it is getting some suspension repairs (some of the bushings are shot and almost unsafe) plus new fuel filters just in case, and an oil change. While the car was on the lift at the shop being checked out I discovered it has upgraded struts/ shocks / springs (hence the lowered look already) and aftermarket sway bars front and back.

I also got 18" wheels for it in place of the 17" ones that were on it. I just love the M Parallels.

I must admit this car is so so FUN to shift through the gears. I hate to say it but I almost like it more than the M3. The cruise works, the AC works, the Sirius is still on too.

The wheel upgrade is huge! The car looks a ton better with the bigger
wheels. NICE!

I like the uniqueness of the original wheels, but it really does look a lot better and more modern with the 18's. Good move.
