Spring Carlisle 2017

Post by Fred32v »

It's not to early to make sure you set some time aside for Spring Carlisle.
The event is from April 19th thru the 23rd.
I plan to be there Thursday the 20th leaving on Sunday the 23rd.

Who is with me? :D

I can't think of a reason why I wouldn't be there. I wonder though, if we might want to be there Wed night for a Thursday and Friday shopping spree, and come home on Saturday. We've never done it and I wonder if we're missing anything, if the shopping would be better, or if it would all be the same.

Any thoughts?

Getting there Wednesday would have so advantages, I'm open to the idea.
That would make getting rooms together a lot less hassle.
Being on the fairgrounds early Thursday would certainly be different.

Anyone else have a comment.

I usually try to catch New Jersey at the same time I catch Carlisle. Bumping
up a day goofs that up for me, so I'd vote no on it.

I'm hoping to join you fellas in April and I think BP's idea to arrive on Wednesday is worth a try.

GM, maybe you could go from Carlisle to Jersey instead of the other way around?

I've thought about that as an option. We have time to figure it out.

It'd be a good reason to drive the Chevelle or Blazer on a roadtrip.. I should be in. Maybe even in for the Wednesday drive up.

Carlisle is getting closer. BP and I are driving up (S10 LS1) on Wednesday April 19th, leaving my place around 10 am ish, expecting to be there for check-in and dinner. GMJohnny will be there with his Regal but still needs to firm up plans. I talked with WXO, he will join us for Wednesday evening dinner. I am currently trying to decide how many rooms we need and who will be joining us. I'd like to hear from Matt and how will you be coming, BigMike could ride with GMJohn there but if GMJohn goes onto Jersey we can't get BigMike home. Would like to hear from Smoke and the 69 Malibu.
Would love to see Maverick's Hot Rod Lincoln there.

I hoping to reserve rooms by the end of this week, if possible.

Currently planning to return home Saturday AM after a group breakfast.

Let me hear from you!!!

My Dad will be here in GA next week. I will discuss with him and let you guys. I am coming, the question is via which mode of transportation. I am leaning towards flying again (possibly).

So my extremely solid tentative plan is to go to Jersey before Carlisle and
end up at the meat (intended spelling error) around lunchtime on Thursday.
I'll depart on Saturday morning. Since I'm going to Jersey, the truck is a non-
factor for a ride. I'll take the Regal ..... or if AKRover's truck is here by then,
and he isn't around to defend himself, I might contemplate giving it a bit of
a test........ hmmmmmm.

I could wait no longer, tried to book at the Super8, they are booked full.
After some searching I found the Knights Inn. 1245 Harrisburg Pike, Carlisle, Pa
(717) 243-5411. Talked to Sam.
I have two non smoking double bed rooms for Wed April the 19th, departing on Sat 22nd.

As it stands, WXO and I could be in one room, BP and GMJohn in the other,
or Suttars in one and WXO and BP, GMJohn and I in the other,
if Smoke and/or Tony come they could bunk with Suttars or .....

One week notice to cancel,
If additional rooms are needed then you should call now.

It's 110/night/room + fees, taxes, etc..

WXO, BP, GMJohn and I will be there for sure.

If a guy who identifies as GM shows up in a Nissan, I hope you will all show him no mercy. There is a very slim chance I will show up as I will just be arriving back in the States that week. I have doctors and other errands so it seems highly unlikely, but not yet impossible.

It would be fun to have you join us Tim. GM can give you that rectal exam you need, so that's covered...
