Tony's train set

Post by TireSmoker »

Since I know Fred and John were over at Tony's, I feel compelled to share this... :-)

Wow.... It does become very obvious that you could easily get sucked in to this
hobby and become a train-aholic. The current technology and attention to detail
is amazing!

A picture is worth a thousand words. It was educational and fun evening.
The first picture is Tony's #844 locomotive, it can do amazing things.
The second locomotive #726 was mine from my Dad when I was 5, 1946.
It is 70 years old, I gave it to John and had it restored for a Christmas present.
The third picture shows the #844 in action going passed John and Tony.

Funny, just this morning I was reading about the real 844 in Hot Rod magazine of all things. Pretty awesome set up you have going on there. Sorry I missed out, but business is business and I had stuff to get done. Love to see a video of them running around.

I did take two small videos with my little LG phone camera.

The first one is the 70 year old #726.

The second one is Tony's sweet #844.

Poor quality but you get the idea of what decades of improvements can do.

Somehow, I just now made it to this thread.

I had a great time running trains with John and Fred for well over three hours. Can't wait to do it again soon.....and more are welcome to stop by next time.

Woo WOO!!!!

I've been selling unwanted items and saving up for this locomotive....but my future 383 is currently in the way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzigA4GBTiU

I've been wanting to do this other project for several years and I finally found a MINT used one on eBay two weeks ago for a good/reasonable price. Lionel has never made a 614.....so I have to buy an MTH 614 and then send it out for conversion to Lionel's "operating system", four chuffs per revolution, and improved/killer smoke output. This should be home the next time anyone comes over: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnHEa_AyCE0 (Yeah....it's custom!!)
