No down side to it so why not?

The Lincoln 460 had an aluminum sheet under the intake to keep oil off the hot exhaust passages that turn the oil to gook. I thought it could be removed since the Performer intake doesn't have exhaust heat.

Queried the experts and they agreed: "leave it out". After reading those test results, maybe it should have been left in. On the other hand, its very cold blooded with cold air supplies hooked up so for driveability, its better left out. I think I still have it.

I'm amazed. I'm considering this now. What leaves me a bit skeptical
is the amount of times that they mention the manufacturer of the shield.
The numbers are there to back it though, and I'd guess Super Chevy is
a reputable source.
