Re: 1978 Lincoln Continental Coupe
The Lincoln made it to the Woodward cruise this year. Perry took it and had a great time with it. Fun drive all around Detroit. His favorite driver among all his outstanding Lincolns.

Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette
After all the mouse nests in the Maverick (air cleaner, AC ducts, headliner, ...), I love seeing one so easy to clean out.

Ah, the pleasure of doing it yourself and knowing it would never be done as well by a hired mechanic. Great work!!

Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette
No wonder the plugs are original!! The challenges aren't what you want but give a greater sense of accomplishment when you overcome them. At least, that's how it's been with all my projects. e.g., rust on the Maverick and tuning the Lincoln.
You're getting close!! I'm eager for a ride.

Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette
Buy another spark plug.
I'm guessing the delay in oil pressure was because the new filter was getting filled. Nice that you spun the engine with no compression till you got pressure.

Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette
Haven't used this but I bet it's good. I liked all the POR products I have used.

Have you turned the engine by hand yet?

Re: Rust remover showdown
Interesting video. Thanks for posting. I treated lots of rusty parts in a 5 gal bucket of EvapoRust. Would let parts soak overnight with great results. For surface rust on panels, I liked OSPHO. Brush it on, wait 20 minutes, wire brush if necessary, and wipe it off. Repeat if necessary. Panels showe...

Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette
When ordering parts the last few years, maybe 20-25% had some issue when they arrived. Don't know how the pros cope with it. Here's hoping the RockAuto part is OK. Any issue with returning the part you have?

Re: Chevelle Upgrades, 2021
I looked around the Internet for pull out strength for bolts. Didn't find a nice easy table but did learn a couple of general things. If a bolt is in more than 3-4 threads, the bolt will break before the threads give out. And, the tensile strength of 1/4" inch bolt is 1000+ lbs. The specifics d...

Hey Perry,
It's great to see Belle join that impressive stable. Thanks for posting. I knew you had a couple of really impressive cars but wasn't aware of the extent.

Re: Mail Alert
Worth a try, I guess. Even cheap batteries should last longer than 1 or 2 weeks.

Dave, please delete this thread.
The alert worked great for a week or two then has become increasingly unreliable. I wonder if batteries are getting week but I won't be replacing batteries this often. I'll be looking for another solution.

Re: 1978 Lincoln Continental Coupe
Hey Perry!! Welcome to tiresmoke.org! I couldn't be more pleased to sell the Lincoln to you and to have you continue the project thread. Makes me feel like I still have some association with the car. Nice to see her with some siblings. I feel like the father of the bride giving up his baby to a fine...
