Yet another car reliability list..

http://www.autoblog.com/2012/11/20/carmd-releases-entirely-objective-reliability-rankings/ Ehh... not like its going to change our minds on what we lean towards. I'll admit I have my favorites.....(so do you  ), but I DO like all sorts of different types/makes of cars. I have also wondered ...

Re: Home-Made Gas Drive Edger

put a 7 1/4 in circular saw blade in there and you got a tree branch trimmer. Just make sure the teeth face the right way or a good story might unfold.
An extension handle could be fabbed for those hard to reach spots
Multi tool FTW

Re: 1991 MkII GTi 8v

The distributor is good. A New Bosch went in when I put on the head. I also had that thought years ago but the bushing in the old one were good. Supposedly the bushings outlast the motor. I replaced mine because the Hall sender went bad. Hall senders have been NLA for a while (they were only $30) Di...

Re: MKII GTI VR6

I think I mught have solved the bearing problem. The guy that pressed the new one in found the hub had been bent. The assembly he had was the 1st attemp, or my original. After the 2nd one was pressed in by the German guy, I had decided to install a new ball joint after the press work. The pickle for...

Re: '70 F100

I have heard of people using dry ice to freeze it then it chips off real easy. I have not tried this myself - yet Years ago I read a Porsche restoration article and the author tried the dry ice. It didn't really work. The ice chunks just cool the immediate (pin point) area that they are touching. I...

Re: 1991 MkII GTi 8v

It started to develop a miss this week. It would only do it on start up, than it clears up. I guessed fuel system. Drove the vr :) to work instead. Today decided to take the 8v. The miss was horrible and not clearing up. Aww Sh**, guess I'll have to drive the VR, again. After work I ordered a fuel f...

Re: NASCAR in Geauga County??

I did not realize Bainbridge Township made it all the way over to Geauga Lake. It's funny they autocross there now in the parking lot. That's how we got to talking about it. I was calling on some energy suspension urethane rear shock coil spring isolaters.(not in stock :C.....) I said I needed it f...

NASCAR in Geauga County??

Apparently so! I was on the phone with a guy from Summit Racing, we got to B.S.ing. He told me about a place "long ago" called Bainbridge Speedway. This than became a horse racing track until the grandstands burned down. The track remained, abandoned -for about 10 years. Than...according t...

Also yet another front left wheel bearing  GRRR. 4. Install the aftermarket rear stabilizer bar. 5. Alignment I just or...

Re: cheap car racing

I think you did a good job on the spin. You didn't look panicked at all and you never stalled it.
Also when you t-boned that guy.. You also were calm. You just got on the radio immediately to the pits to let them know what happened. There wasnt any emotion or getting upset, just business! Great Job.
