Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette
Continuing where I left off on 4/2, the eBay seat track arrived. I tested the motors before I went to install it and none of the three motors responded to the 12V applied to them. NOT GOOD. I contacted the seller and he immediately refunded my payment and told me to keep the seat track. With this re...

Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette
Yes. The front of the seat bottom is held on by a stiff wire latch that you push down to unlatch. Then just pull the seat forward and it comes out. For your first time, it's best to take a look under the front of the seat to get an understanding of how it works. After that you can do it by feel. You...

Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette
ODO: 106,146 I finally got around to tackling the power driver's seat problems. Getting the seat out wasn't too bad and there weren't any dead, mummified, animals underneath. 001.JPG 002 (2).JPG There is a unit with three motors that controls the movement of the seat. I tested each motor with a 12 v...

From our perspective out here in the hinterlands, an encouraging picture of significant progress in this restoration is forming. Great work and perseverance, Andy, keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to more.

Re: Simple, fast way to clean bolt threads
I know! Right? I can't wait for my next encounter with a crusty bolt.

Re: 1990 Corvette Z51
installed new fuel pump, fuel sending unit, and fuel filter. The good news is, the car starts and runs. The bad news is I'm not seeing anything on my gas gauge. When Fred visited Raleigh last June, we worked on a blown piece of hose coming off the fuel pump. When we pulled out the fuel sending unit...

Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette
The oil analysis report mentioned that the viscosity of the oil was slightly low. I called Blackstone and asked about it. They were very eager to answer all questions and said that it may be some fuel in the oil. Looking back at the history of the oil I submitted, I saw that it was during the time w...

I received the results of the oil analysis today. Nothing shows up out of the ordinary. Pretty good news.

Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette
ODO: 105754 We had a 67° day today so I went out to the garage with the intent of finding an oil leak. I didn't find an oil leak, but I did find an antifreeze leak in the same area where I thought the oil leak was originating. One of the heater hoses needed the clamp tightened a bit more. Now, I won...

Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette
ODO: 105,742 On the first of January, I proudly proclaimed "No oil leaks on the garage floor. I love a car with no oil leaks." Once I got her up on the jack stands and looked underneath, I saw the opposite. Oil covered the oil pan from front to back, but none had reached the floor. So when...

Today, I stumbled upon this video of track mods for the C4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9PB3m6-Vd0
Maybe it will give you some ideas if you haven't seen it yet.

Hey BP, I have Hagerty's for my TBSS and the Corvette. Including the optional "Driver's Club" (for towing), my cost for the upcoming year was $600. But, don't be surprised when you lose your multicar discount from State Farm and your bill for your remaining cars goes up.

It's likely my age, but I like as much light on the road as I can get.

Speaking of headlights, I watched this YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLW8t4ilzgU
I now have the two components on order from Amazon. About $70.
I'm looking forward to some much improved nighttime driving.
