Re: 1972 Maverick Sprint

Ditto what Fred said. Great choice of wheels and tires, Jim.

Re: 2008 Trailblazer SS

Last Thursday I took Smoke to RPM for a dyno tune. Here is the graph of the final run. http://s3.postimage.org/28h0hs9xg/TBSS_dyno_8_4_2011.jpg Ryan was able to coax 10 extra HP out her to get to 323. Not a spectacular jump, but considering that she's all stock except for the K&N air filter... T...

Re: 2008 Trailblazer SS

I got the aux trans cooler installed last weekend. It's nice to be able to use my welding skills for something useful. I decided to mount the cooler in the center of the radiator to allow as much air as possible to pass unhindered through the A/C condenser and radiator on each side of the cooler. Th...

Re: '06 Trailblazer LS

Not much activity. One low-ball and one no-show. I've reduced the price below the others that are comparable on Craigslist and put ads in two Trailblazer forums. Just sitting waiting for the offers to come in now. :)

I never considered that. :? I always think of technology as being more accurate. Tell me your thoughts on this.

Re: 2008 Trailblazer SS

I received my replacement temperature sender from Amazon. Testing it with a hot cup of water and comparing the reading on the gauge with the reading from the temperature gun, I see that the gauge reads way high. I'm wondering if I can add resistance into the sender circuit to make the sender match t...

Thanks for the read-outs, Fred. Now we have something to compare when I get my sensor and gauge in.

Re: 2008 Trailblazer SS

B&M SuperCooler instructions recommend the following: "Route the transmission fluid through the stock radiator cooler, then through the supplemental B&M SuperCooler and then back to the transmission. This will provide the most efficient transmission fluid cooling system for your vehicle...

Re: '97 thru '99 Camaro SS wheels 17x9

I'm pretty sure the offset is 2 inches based on the casting numbers (17X9J 50). I believe the 50 is the offset in mm (2 inches).

Re: 2008 Trailblazer SS

I've read that tranny fluid temps should normally run in the 175 to 200 degree range. At 225 degrees, it's beginning to get too hot and fluid starts breaking down. 300 degrees is the point of overheating. Higher stall converters generate more heat than stock converters (which makes sense).

Re: 2008 Trailblazer SS

The good part is Amazon accepted a return on the Derale pan costing me only about $10 for shipping. :D The bad part is that I accidently sent back my B&M temperature sending unit back with the pan. :( The good part is that I emailed Amazon explaining what I had done. They graciously agreed to le...

Re: 2008 Trailblazer SS

I had an interesting, but frustrating afternoon working on Smoke today. I had received the Derale transmission cooling pan from Amazon and finally found some time to swap the pans. We all know how this goes. Something that looks like a simple task ends up in a frustrating mess. First, I checked to m...

The wheels on the El Camino in the picture appear to be chrome. Mine are painted silver from the factory.
