I’m always impressed by guys who can take a mundane car like that Olds and make it a hot rod.
Not only do they have a cool vision in their minds, but having the skills to make it a reality is
truly something special.

Re: 2022 Jetta GLI
We don’t have 80 mph speed limits in Ohio, but on my ride to work, there’s no enforcement
of the 65 mph speed limit, so 80 or above isn’t uncommon. I can say that those speeds haven’t
hurt my mileage on the Terrain. It’ll be interesting to see how the freeway helps your mileage.

This is a story that could have ended a lot worse than bringing home an old convertible. I think you have room for a few more Oldsmobiles in that garage.

Re: 1967 Cutlass Convertible
dude, that's sweet!! werent those 330's like 11:1 compression or something? I thought there was something sorta unique about them. -Dave I’m not quite sure what the compression ratio on this one is, as normally the air cleaner assembly color gives you a hint, ( orange = 10.25 / black = 9.0 ) but th...

1967 Cutlass Convertible
Here’s another example of what happens when you look on the internet for things that interest you. I found this ‘67 Cutlass convertible on Facebook Marketplace. Turns out it was owned by the father of a guy that I worked with in the late 90’s. A few beers and laughs later, I did the deal. It’s a 330...

37461… Routine oil change completed. Nothing major to report. Once again, mileage per gallon and average speed have gone up. A long road trip to New Jersey and Carlisle a few weeks ago bumped both of those. The Terrain still continues to be a great daily driver.

I’m not certain what your method of removing the guts of the converter is, but,
as an idea, I would consider cutting a square hole in the top in order to make
sure you don’t alter the alignment of the pipes. Just a suggestion.

Carb Rebuild
39,502 … One part of a large pile of ‘65 Olds parts I acquired from a Facebook marketplace was a 4GC Rochester that was factory stock on a 425 Olds. It’s very similar to the carb that came on my 442. My carb is a one year and one model only carb. It’s pretty rare. Not wanting to do my first rebuild ...

Re: Kuhnle/Thompson 2022 Wednesdays
I’ve learned that driving a stick shift car with drum brakes is not the ideal bracket racing package. The sweet spot of good traction and the tires going up in smoke is a very small one. I do enjoy the challenge of it, but I can’t see this car making it to the drag strip 5 times a summer. My best ET...

5 amp push in fuses are what’s in the ignition. The plastic kind that’s
not a mini fuse. I could use an old air cleaner lid if you have one.

First time to the track
I decided to make the trip to KMP on Wednesday night. It was quite warm, but I felt I was mechanically ready to make a try at a pass to get myself a baseline of what the car can do in the quarter. My first pass was basically a hot lap as I went from the street to the strip in about 15 mins. I decide...

Muffler Upgrade
38,993 … Last Friday, ( I’m a bit late posting! ) I had the day off work and took advantage of it by changing the mufflers on the car. It came with Flowmaster’s that sounded ok, but the big issue with them is they would allow popping sounds to be extremely noticeable on downshifting. It was annoying...

A 260 Oldsmobile is the perfect motor for this event. A late 70’s early 80’s Cutlass
would be a wonderful candidate for this….

Re: Yikes this is worth $18k
All I can say is that we should’ve bought a lot of cars in 2018 to sell now.
These cars were only bringing $10-$12 then. The market has gone insane!
And seriously, a 5 speed with a 260?!
