Re: MKII GTI VR6

With the temperatures getting colder, I thought i better get in gear and take care of the cooling system. I added the mercedes benz flush Moday night after draining remarkably clean water out. The evapo-rust treatment I did when i pulled the engine worked great. There wasn't much for the flush to re...

Re: VW Plant

Ive never heard of that place. Evidence VW's been doing well financially, even in the economic climate we have been in for a few years. Theres a new plant in Chattanooga TN.
A couple of months ago they acquired Porsche.

Re: 2005 9.2x Linear

I think the aero is the turbo model. Those (Saab) are much easier on the eyes than the Subaru's. The interior is nicer also. Its also rumored to share the aluminum control arms with the STi...I think the rear ones ?? and also a couple of other suspension parts. I'm not a Subardude so I'm not sure of...

Re: 2005 9.2x Linear

Oh neat. Those things are basically a Subaru iirc. Is it all wheel drive? You'll like the hatch I'm guessing. Ive had 5 hatchbacks and they are handy. I can get more in my mk2's than my girlfriend can get in her 4 door. It should handle very good to.

Re: 1991 MkII GTi 8v

Just got back from test drive number 2. The trans works great. Ran over to Summit racing to get some hose clamp pliers. Summits real close to me about 15 minutes at most, maybe 7 miles! Those will be nice to remove a couple of hoses when I do the radiator change in a couple of days. The close ratio ...

Re: 1991 MkII GTi 8v

Well there's a first time for everything. Ive never gotten a wrong part from my parts guys, but... they gave me an input shaft seal for a 1993~1998 020 trans. The O.D. is the same but the I.D. on the seal is slightly different. That explains the leak coming out of the bellhousing. It wasn't the mech...

Exhaust Manufacturer. bookmark worthy

I ran across this company for my VW stuff. There VW prices are very reasonable. There Quality is supposed to be great. They seem to have all the goodies - Vband, stainless and aluminum tubing etc...8) There looks to be alot more stuff for you domestic car guys. I wouldn't know... but maybe there mus...

Re: MKII GTI VR6

Be warned though, when it's cold outside, they're like driving on marbles. It's amazing what a 40 degree swing in temperature will do. Since summer is so short around here, and cars make more power when it's cold... -BP Thats a really good point I didn't really consider that. Obviously, I wont driv...

http://i728.photobucket.com/albums/ww281/skulldog2/100_1871-1.jpg I got this on before the rain on Saturday. Its so nice working on this thing. I HATE rust. Got it aligned that day. I purchased a lifetime alignment at Firestone this past spring. Ive now used it a second time, so now its paid for it...

Re: 1991 MkII GTi 8v

Put the trans in today. That was fun! I installed a new clutch,pp and trans mount also. Also have a bunch of small things to do. The dealer, surprisingly still could get the appropriate speedo gear for the new/different r&p. A new coolant pipe is going in also. I'd have to say a V8 trans is prob...
