Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette

What a crazy concoction of engineering there... Even in the 90's I would think there would be a better way to handle that. How much would you say that three motor assembly weighs?

Re: 1987 Corvette Z52

I got the new transmission cooler mounted in place with a simply cut 1/8" aluminum L bracket from Home Depot and some precision drilling on my part. Unfortunately there was not enough hose included in the kit (only 4') to reach my existing tranny lines on the bottom of the radiator, so the proj...

Re: 2022 Jetta GLI

My wife found herself in a situation at a stoplight up a tiny hill where here FWD car would literally not move at all because the traction control sensed there was zero traction. The neighbors happened to be behind her and pushed her to get the car moving. So I taught her how to turn it off for trac...

Re: 2014 Cadillac ATS Luxury 2.0T AWD

This one is RWD based, unlike your Regal. So the motor sits in there the correct way and not sideways. This one won't be frying the tires and should be a successful dirt racer as well. Hopefully it's just a tick slower than the Vette in the dirt.

If I can do it in my S10 on the A/C side, we can get it done on that thing. If you want my skinny hands to help, give me a holler and we'll get it done.

Re: For Sale Jegs EFI and parts

Nice! You never actually drove the car with that Jegs efi in place did you? Only garage and driveway? Just wondering how those Jegs/Summit brand EFI systems were compared to a Holley or FAST. I would assume someone big like that makes them anyway.

Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette

I haven't pulled my seats out for anything yet, but do you pull the seat bottom off to access the mounting bolts to the floor?

Climb a Mountain or Buy a Dodge?

For those non-Hagerty readers out there, I found this article interesting. It's a good take on possessions vs memories courtesy of Jay Leno.

Why Tony Angelo left HRG...

I stumbled on this video about why Tony Angelo left HRG for real.

The first 15 minutes is background, and the last 15 minutes explains why.

Re: 2023 iRacing - Other

That's an odd version of Monza I've never seen. IMO, it should be with higher powered cars. No chicanes AND banked turns? The MX5 would be a boring car to drive there. Looks like all drafting all the time. I only watched a couple laps, just to get the lay of the land.

Re: 1987 Corvette Z52

We got to work on the power steering cooler yesterday. A reasonably easy install except for some tight spots for clamps and hoses. I had a piece of galvanized angle steel laying around, and the holes in it lined up perfectly with the holes in the cooler. I got to use our "new" welder to we...

The new gasket is installed on the tank and the fuel pump assembly is reinstalled and pumping fuel again. Time will tell if the sloshing problem has been resolved or not.

Re: 1987 Corvette Z52

Yesterday we worked on the gas tank fuel starvation issue and tried out my "new" welder. This is the welder I posted a little while back and decided that for the price it would be handy to have at Dad's place for whatever might arise. We hooked it up to make sure it was a functioning unit ...
